I ordered 25 chicks, 5 each of Black Cochin, Light Brahma, Dominique, Barred Rock, and SLW.  Which were originally going to hatch on the 8th.  Then I was told that they would have the 13th. 

Imagine my surprise when I got a post office call on the 11th saying I had chicks. 

Imagine further surprise when the very nice fellow at the hatchery called Monday the 13 to say they were putting my chicks on a truck.  At which time I advised them that I had them already.

They said they pulled the extra order..
So imagine my greater surprise when the phone rang this morning and it was the post office...         :ep :th

The hatchery was very nice again when I called today.

So some chickens for eating and some for laying has combined with my already here chickens to give me a total of 87... of which 13 are retiring layers and/or meaties..

Apparently, I am a cosmic chicken joke as I was going to get 3 orders.  My family may even stop laughing when they see me sometime soon. :lau

But as I live on a farm and have the space.. I'm going with the more the merrier instead of driving to return this set.

All are health and eating the FF so that's a good start..

So thanks to Galgo I now have a pair of silver sebrights and a pair of golden sebrights! They are laying age and of course now I wanna start hatching. LOL

Too many posts to read...I just can't keep up....so:

1. Howdy from Chester Co to the newbies.....
2. Lygertly, do I read you correctly, you ordered 25 and they are sending you 75? that may be the ultimate in Cmath!
3. Had my neighbor and kids come for a chicken visit this afternoon, (she grew up on a farm in Lancaster and her father has some)...her kids had a hoot chasing and feeding the girls...she mentioned to her hubby as they were leaving for dinner that she was interested in getting some...I think she has the bug....
4. Sally, you have it all wrong....its through the ear.

You did read that right.. I ordered 25, they tried sending 75 (plus the extra in the box) so in the end I got 55.

I'm not sure how to quote but for those who asked I'm south east of Pittsburgh. I would like to add some other chickens to my flock. Besides Craigslist and mail ordered eggs, does anyone know of any local swaps? This is what I want to add next: Polish, Easter Eggers, Dominique, Light Sussex and Old English Game Bantam.
