I like your Avatar. I grew up outside of Philly (Delco) I am now in Chester County. Building the coop first? Imagine that!
 
Welcome new people! Build a coop first? Interesting concept. Seems I always need more space, coops, dividing runs, brooders, incubators, you name it.
When you decide to get your birds, ask us, we'll be happy to confuse you about what you think you want. Within a year I had 0 of my original birds, totally switched breeds when I discovered what was available, along with adding species!

Me, Me, was gonna fry up some chicken , but really do not feel like cooking......store bought goodies will be coming instead.

I need this concept explained also......How do you know what size to build if you do not get birds first???

New people joined. People bought new chickens. People hatched new chickens. People bought some turkeys. People wil have new goats. People want to go to Knoebels. Think that sums it up!
 
My babies getting some outside time today!! They played an amazing game of keep away, just as i went to record it though, they put the, what I looked at closer to be a balled up candy wrapper, outside the pen area! lol was really cute!!

I just love these 2! their color just gets me!! I think they are both pullets too!

My brahama (Bahama Mama, is her name) and my 2 blue Marans, 1 is a Pullet the other a Roo, looking at how their combs are developing anyway, they are from, http://www.signaturefeathers.com/marans/marans.html

The ladies, all squawking and purring in the coop, finding their egg laying hiding spot! lol
