Quote: Come to think of it, she does wear Capri's most of the time. Good thought. I had forgotten.
I have 2 problems. I have 4 Leghorns and 3 white Rocks. I was trying to get the Leghorns into the layer pen, and the broody EE into the chick pen so she can sit.
I grabbed the 2 with huge combs. They are definitely Leghorns. I went back, and I swear I cannot decide who the other 2 Leghorns are. Not by comb or tail. My flashlight kept going out, the thunder is rolling, and the lightening is flashing. The dog is scared. The chickens are upset. I finally grabbed 2, and prayed.
First problem to solve. What am I missing/what should I look for tomorrow to tell them apart? The Leghorns are ready to lay, the White Rocks are only 12 weeks.
Second, I saw something shiny while I was fumbling around in the chick pen. I thought it was a broken egg. Thinking again, I doubt the Leghorns have begun quite yet. If I see in the morning it is Cocci, are the adults now in trouble?
