Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Hello all----I have been busy keeping up reading all your posts! I don't have much to add but just wanted to let you all know I am trying to keep up with this gang.

I almost bought a rabbit hutch off of craigs list but someone else got it first. After calculating some of the materials costs etc.........it seemed like a good idea , considering their price.

I guess my original idea of converting a dresser will go forward............it just seems a bit too small .......
I may need to add a back deck or additional room to it and a big run.........

I hope to see some folks chicks and coops this weekend.

Maybe Stakes and Blarneyeggs----I hope I got the names right!

I am interested and nervous.................this is a very very new adventure and I am an animal lover but not a farmer! You all seem to have very established set ups and animals!

I just have a small suburban backyard.......and an interest...................so lets see how it goes................

I think you are doing a great job of reading and researching everything before just jumping in like most people do, myself included.

Realistically if you pulled drawers and used fencing you could possibly do a pair of bantams in a dresser. If you look at the top of the page under coops you may find some inspiration.

Have you ever wanted to do something and didn't? I never wanted to regret not doing something so I've tried to do a lot of things. Been in different positions work wise and have had my hands in a number of things. All in all, lots of experiences, a number of skills and stories enough to write a book. And so for the most part to help people. Do use some skills for my business.

Well, the experience is always a huge plus!

Had a rough morning... Went out to feed our little flock and let them roam for a little while and found 3 of my 4 month old RIR's were killed by predators, my lone girl thats left is a bit out of sorts today, I don't know how she managed to escape whatever got into the pen, even the swallow nests that were in my carport were down & the birds and babies were nowhere to be seen...

Anyone have chicks or pullets in the southeast PA area? I dont want to leave her on her own for too long shes never been alone & was the shyest of the 4.
Oh no! I am. I wish I could help but my flock is fighting an illness right now. Where do you live?

we must have had a heck of a bunch of them, skunks moved in and decided to call our barn home and had young ones

Say hi to RoPo.
That doesn't even look like a branch. Thats another tree coming out from the original. Why does it seem like this Chad person can do everything?
Or thinks he can.
I had an older woman want me to climb her tree in a kilt and asked if I could climb a ladder that she could hold lol
How much did she charge you for the thrill?
:he IDK why he gets excited when he sees me!?!?!?
Or is it the other way around?

Isn't that a delicacy in the far East? I know in India there's a made with unborn sheep, and goats. I'm the same way. I'll try anything once, if I like it I'll have it again. (I'm talking about food, nothing else!) I'm not going to defend him starving them, but I try to keep in mind the cultural end of anything like that. I know none of us (well I hope none of us would) use or birds for Santeria but in some cities religious reasons actually trump code when it comes to livestock. All this talk about kilts reminds me I need to get my cousin fitted for his for the wedding...I'm really hoping I won't regret letting him wear one
Uh huh...sure...food. My officiant is wearing his kilt to my wedding and at least 1 guest.
