Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Oh no! I am. I wish I could help but my flock is fighting an illness right now. Where do you live?
We're in Lower Bucks County

Thank you all for the condolences, I'm trying to give our survivor some extra love & attention but shes running from me & wont eat anything. Any suggestions?

Realistically if you pulled drawers and used fencing you could possibly do a pair of bantams in a dresser. If you look at the top of the page under coops you may find some inspiration.
Well----this is sort of what I had in mind.

What I envisioned was the lowest drawer as a nest box. then skip one drawer and the third up from the bottom would be a poop tray beneath the roost. The roost bar would be above the 3rd drawer.

The section on the right side I thought I would cut the door in half so that the bottom would be solid and the top would be a window.

I envisioned the entrance/ exit out the right side.

Given what I was reading----it seems like enough space for bantams..........yet it might be better if I added a space behind the dresser as a second room------just in the event of bad weather etc that they may have more room to move around................... I could just make a bigger floor board and then extend a basic box up behind the dresser back.

Not sure if this makes sense.

I also need to make a good roof ---at an angle with some shingles or other material.............

I may be starting on this construction project this weekend..............

I also need to do this without really any power tools--------------or once I find the right wood----go to a friends to have them help cut wood with their tools and expertise

I have a drill and a hammer.

I need to use some hand saws...........

hope its do-able.

Glad to see you're back, sucks about the order though

Anyways, here are the new guys~

Sleepy Mottled Chocolate

Lucky, the little turkey that could. One of my pencilled palms, couldn't walk on arrival but seems to be doing just fine now

Panda, quickly one of my favorites. Those markings are fabulous...

Panda and Frosty (another one of the pencilled)

Titan, the biggest poult in the order. He likes to get all up in your business...

Good morning from Central PA!
Hello and welcome! Sorry for the late reply, just finally got caught up!
Love the little yellow one!!, what is it? Got another one for you...where did you get those baskets?...so nice with the front 'cut-out'!!..i am still looking for something better to put into the nest area of the coop. I have a bin right now, but all Ginger does in throw the nesting stuff every where, then lays her egg in the sand on the coop floor..

They are actually all 'mutts', crosses of the roo in my profile page pic (Greyson) who is a mix and his hens, who are Easter eggers and black stars or black australorp mixes...We also have one who is a silkie mix. Is fun to watch them and see the characteristics that they share with their parents!
The baskets were gotten from WalMart last year, from the laundry hamper/storage solutions area. I think they were like $5 or $6 each and have been a Godsend! They do stack also.

all these babies!!!!!
Thanks! we have been having fun with broodies and babies this spring!
Westmoreland county here!! 25 chickens, about 10 ducks and a goose!!

So cute!!! Congrats on the new babies!

Lisa good luck with your coop building. Maybe you can get more dressers and hook them together. Or maybe kitchen cabinets? We are not all super experianced or have big farms, I would love to have a big farm, want more chickens!

LeBlackbird, omg I love panda. So cute, I want him! What kind of turkey is he? I just picked up 3 two month old royal palm and bourbon crosses. They have the cutest call/song. Love whistling to them :D

The turkeys are super cute!!! I wanted to get some the other week when the ag store had some but hubby put his foot down to me purchasing "thanksgiving" and "christmas" lol
