Pelletized Lime is cheap. It changes the PH of the soil. Conditions are unfavorable for the grubs and the lawn will thank you. 40# bag of pelletized lime at Home depot around $4.00

Thanks! I will grab some on my next trip. You might be able to give me some advice on this too :) I want a wood chipper and was wondering if it would grind the branches to a nice consistency to use instead of buying wood chips in the coop? We borrowed my FIL old one years ago and used it as mulch.

K, so I come on and try to catch up and am dead tired and half asleep...........but here's what I got out of the last hundred or so posts:

***Chad is gonna be climbing trees in a kilt (and on that show "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman", those almost incubated egg thingies are considered a "Viagra" in Singapore where they sell them on street corners for that reason.........so things are about to get real interesting around here) ***We have a (new) aussie friend who is making Jalepeno Poppers **** There are a bunch of cute new Turkey chicks, puppies, baby goats, etc. ****We're coming up with recipes to cook bugs and see who will eat them If this is all anywhere near correct, I just wanna say I LOVE IT HERE, LOVE YOU GUYS, AND I WANT IN!!! I'll bring a keg and some lasagna!!!
Lmao, well I have about 4 bottles of local wine in the fridge & will be getting 2 cases of beer early next week & of course i'll have the poppers LOL

Wow panda is sooooo cute! And weird question but do you do anything with turkeys other then meat? Like do you eat their eggs?
Yup! Turkeys do lay less than chickens (and they seem to lay where ever they want to...I'm keeping mine locked up so I don't have to egg hunt) but their eggs are bigger and taste pretty much the same. Most of the time, they're adorably speckled like so~

(not mine)

Well if we're cooking things I can add this from camp Friday night....

Was the central part of this meal.....

Nothing against grubs or the egg 'delicacy'... but I'm more of a smoker/bar-b-q lady! LOL
I'm coming to your camp! Wait for an easterly wind....I'll look for the smoke signals

I just woke Gavin laughing about this...one of my girls has taken to beating on any boy who tries to crow other than Jäger. Only the one girl but she's the second largest in the entire flock, she even beats on Jack, my favorite New Hampshire boy and the largest in the flock.
Gavin, I took video. so wish I could post it on here!!! It's hilarious!
