Just realized we have bullshitted just in PA for over 26,000 posts and 2600 pages!
I left for a few hours to see my grandkids and had 13 pqges to read, plus one more that filled while I was reading.
Hey guys, just wanted to jump in and let everyone know I'm still hanging in there. Also, Turkeys came the other day. Not too happy with the state of them (a lot of curled toes and weak legs I'll have to deal with) but even more disappointed in the fact that over half my order was substituted

What I ordered-

10 black mottled
3 Narragansett
2 blue palm

What I got-
4 black mottled
2 blue palm
5 chocolate mottled
6 pencilled palm

Now, they did send 2 extras (only 1 death so far, down to 4 choc mottled) but it looks like I won't be doing much breeding due to the hodge podge of varieties. I ordered back in January, would have been nice to get a complete (or even close to complete) order. Pics soon, they're very cute!
They sure were cute! Were they from a hatchery, or a private breeder? I might have a couple extra Narris if you still want soe. They were hatched in May though, so they're getting pretty big.
K, so I come on and try to catch up and am dead tired and half asleep...........but here's what I got out of the last hundred or so posts:

***Chad is gonna be climbing trees in a kilt (and on that show "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman", those almost incubated egg thingies are considered a "Viagra" in Singapore where they sell them on street corners for that reason.........so things are about to get real interesting around here)

***We have a (new) aussie friend who is making Jalepeno Poppers

**** There are a bunch of cute new Turkey chicks, puppies, baby goats, etc.

****We're coming up with recipes to cook bugs and see who will eat them

If this is all anywhere near correct, I just wanna say I LOVE IT HERE, LOVE YOU GUYS, AND I WANT IN!!! I'll bring a keg and some lasagna!!!
Gotta wonder about Chad and all that kilt talk. Especially since the balut picture was really just an excuse for a close up of his thumbs. Ya know what they say about a guy's thumbs...

Lmao, well I have about 4 bottles of local wine in the fridge & will be getting 2 cases of beer early next week & of course i'll have the poppers LOL
Not dark beer, I hope. After that lactation discussion, I'm scared of the stuff.

And a big WELCOME to anybody who's popped in since the last time I had time to post.

i got 500 of these. so i pass the savings to chicken buddies

broiler chicks (red bro) aka red ranger

The Red Bro breeds feature excellent breast meat yields, superb
feed conversion, strong disease resistance, increased livability,
strong legs and a more aggressive nature suitable for its organic, free-range environment.
. The three colors of broiler is a very profitable bird to raise because of their strong disease resistance. The Color Ranger broiler chickens have an excellent conformation of white and dark meat yields, a tender texture with the flavor of a slow growing bird.

Hey Beaglady, the order was actually from Porters. Not sure if I want to order from them again in the future with this kind of results. I will admit though, the remaining birds are looking a little bit better today, with the exception that one of the chocolates has a weird foot. I'll probably re-tape it tomorrow. Thanks for the offer, I'll have to do a rundown of how much is on my plate right now. I do have 2 6 weeks old Royal Palms if I happen to decide that they would make a nice addition to the flock :) thanks!

What is a Narris turkey? And it means he has to wear bigger gloves!

As I've said, I'm not a pro at hatching and I don't pay a while lot of attention to details. I hold the tempo close and the humidity close and hope. Just what works for me. Sophomores success sometimes failure. My first hatches I fiddled with everything and had worse luck. I know we all want the best hatches and Sally had a great paper on how to do it best and her success shows. I have too much to take care of, so tend to slack of on that.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get that branch down.
Why, I like that tree, it is different
Quote: Bummer,,,,just might pay the extra for that one.
Quote: Gotta ask........Did you ?
SO ..... back to all things bird related lol What is the youngest you would put your chicks outside in the coop, taking into account warmer temps etc.

I am not doing it yet, just want to get some rough ideas and other peoples take on the whole situation.
depends on the breed, and if they have good shelterQuote:
