Warning venting ahead lol

Looks like i'll be calling animal control today, hopefully they get off lunch soon & answer the phone.

The old man nextdoor to us died months ago and he had a few cats - like 3 of them. Anyway I have been seeing more and more orange cats (like his older ones) - there has to be about 15 now (if not more) all in varying sizes. I thought a coon or something was eating the dry dog food outside, well while digging out the garden before I turn around and there are 3 little orange cats going to town on my dogs food.

For a while there, there were relatives of the old guy coming over feeding them while they cleaned the property & rest of the acres of land full of JUNK for an auction and I haven't seen them for about 2 weeks so now the **** cats are coming over here, they are totally feral - you can't even approach them, they hiss and are just mean. I like animals but i am not going to be feeding animals that aren't my own.

The relatives don't even come and feed the 2 horses, they leave it for the grandson of the guy that died that lives on the other side of us to do it - it isn't HIS responsibility and they get out ALL the time, nearly causing a few accidents with cars, the mother horse you can approach, just but the son is just down right mean and out of control. The horses haven't been properly socialized for years we have been told. I am just sooooo angry at the whole situation

Sorry that happened, I hate the USPS at the best of times, I ordered ferret food yesterday - it will ship from hazelton & apparently won't get here till between the 3rd & the 8th of July - how that is possible I have no idea, it isn't like hazleton is halfway across the US ... grrrr

to the USPS
Any time I've ordered from them (dog.com or sister companies) they make the shipping schedule sound dire, but my order almost always shows up the next day. I'm near-ish to Harrisburg.

I hope so, fingers crossed it gets here tomorrow or monday at the latest. The reviews say they got orders before they were expected so I can only hope lol It is the only problem having a ferret, is getting the right food for them - which of course petco/petsmart don't sell. They only sell stuff with too much grain content and not enough meat content

Hugs for everyone that's having a bad day :(

Motherhen, definitely ask about all that! Those birds are WAY too high end to lose like that! Good luck, sending super special awesome hatching vibes your way!

Tweetr, definitely contact someone about that problem! My neighbors across the street don't fix any of their cats, so there's always 10-15 of them. I drew the line when they started hunting/killing my birds. I let them know that the cat's presence would not be tolerated on the property and that I even had the right to silence the felines if they damaged or destroyed my property or livestock. There's been far less cat sightings since then. In your case, animal control should remove them all...

I know how I handle farel cats, but my method may not be an option for you. My sister had a female she refused to fix (until she and her daughters had 5 litters) and I took care of the tom cats that came around.

I agree animal control should remove them for you. I spoke to someone in my township office and I was told they don't even need to go after my animals...but there are a lot around and people ditch unwanted cats up here all the time.
