Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I'm new to all of this. I have no idea what NPIP means but I will look it up. All the eggs I bought online have been from out of state and this wasn't mentioned
Wow. I thought that was a good price. I'll have to check out the auctions instead of Craigslist. I've only been to building supply auctions, never an animal one.
If you go let me know what it is like. I really want a goat and a few more breeds of chicks.
I have a white silkie rooster. Very friendly. I can get a picture tomorrow if you want.
How long are you usually there for? Took the kids to a building supply auction at the same place and it was a disaster. Very long day for all of us

Our huge family cookout is at my house on Sunday. I've been neglecting laundry and the house since we have been outside in the pool lately. I have sooooo much cooking and cleaning to do. Not easy when you have 3 little kids that makes messes faster than I can clean. Lol.

Here is my youngest playing with the chickens while I was putting the new mulch down today.

That sounds like a good dinner...
My dinner is getting cooked outside today.

Quote: This is what we are doing with Pepper. She gets tied out in 1 spot for a few days & then moved to a new spot once she clears some weeds. She's still pretty little so not clearing very fast yet...LOL

Quote: I almost bid on a couple little babies who ended up going for $10 each, but didn't think they would ride home well on my kids' laps in the back of the car.

Quote: This is our 1st goat since I was a kid in 4-H MANY years ago...LOL

Heya all!!

Been MIA the past few days - hope everyone had a great 4th! We celebrated the 4th and 5th with 2 nights of fireworks

All of the neighbours were outside watching and cheering us on lol hubby ended up getting about $600 of fireworks

was a pretty good show to say the least and having an out of state ID came in handy as we could get all the good stuff, not just the wussy sparklers and snakes

Sorry to those that lost chickens and hooray for the ones that came home!

Pepper the goat is super cute, I have totally avoided showing the 4yr the pic as I know he would bug us to get one

My chicks are doing great, have a TON of feathers and just a little bit of chick fluff left on them. Question about them though, seeing as the temps are super warm during the day and at night - would it be ok to put them out in their coop already?? They are in their little enclosure in the house but they are just digging through their pine chips and omg that stuff is going everywhere lol so I thought i'd check with those of you used to putting your chicks out earlier, they are 3 weeks 2 days old today. If I get more than a few of you saying it is ok, i'm going to put a little covered window in it for better ventilation flow (one end opens right up with heavy duty wire all nailed into the inside), nothing could get in there.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! Hopefully my sluggish feeling goes away, we never hardly drink and did 2 nights of drinking in a row

I pitch mine out at that age as soon as temps are above 40F at night as long as there are at least 6 to huddle for warmth.

As for Pepper, your son needs a goat...LOL
