Sounds like the ducks with Gavin. He comes outside and they run for cover. :-D The chickens on the other hand charge him, since he almost always has food.It is a fine line between love and terrorizing them - looked like he was putting them through some sort of commando training morning workout lol They all came up to me and hid behind me![]()
That's what I thought a far as the cleaning. Sure was a good thing you did it that way with the nest boxes. I need to do more research on our newest chicken additions...ruddy escape artists even with chicken wire over they're box they're still escaping...I think I'll build them a temp run for warm weather. It'll be a little while until I need to get them am indoor cage.Stripping as in cleaning. I guess I could have just said clean the coops, but being a horse person, when you do a thorough stall cleaning, it's stripping. Since I am thoroughly doing it (including vacuuming corners and webs), I call it stripping. I should finish painting a couple as well. And I have one to tear apart since the last wind storm blew the pool table conversion over and broke a leg off. That could be stripping, too, I guess. Stripping good building materials! I am so glad I am smart and built the nest boxes to come out with a few screws on that one so I can remount them anywhere I need them!
Mine have done much worse...as in I don't find it after they're done playing. The cats leave them laying around and I always seem to miss one (or more) before I let the birds out.How gross are my chickens? Now it is just sitting on sidewalk now that they had their fun with it. ugh. Anyone wanna come clean it up?! Also included picture of my Rooster. They are `18 weeks now and just started laying. I am currently getting 1 egg a day with 7 hens. They arent laying in coop yet. So starting tomorrow they get pened up so they dont make a habbit out of laying somewhere in the 5 acres we have.
