Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I would be very interested in a tom or even a trio. I lost my tom last week & have yet to replace him. I will likely be heading out that direction again in just over a week, so let me know if you still need homes for any before then. I still have to go collect that herd of goats & sheep we couldn't catch last weekend.

We would
We would be willing to take a few, too, if you need to re home them. It's really too bad. They appear to have been really taken care of. I would love to have some, but I really hope you find their home. Good luck!

- I was just thinking, you could also ask at the feed store who buys game feed. TSC won't be able to help, I would think. If you have a small feed store, they may even know the owners.

What a cool story and great pics! I think I would hold off on the porch scrubbing until they're off it.

They didn't come back tonight!

HOW did I go from thinkin I would fill the freezer, to being mad about the poo on the porch, to missing them and worrying if they are Ok and wanting to save their lives??? GOOD GRIEF!!!
Well, if they come back , the game commission will see them, and we will find out whats what. til then, i am telling myself their human found them and took them home!
But, if I can't find the human, and they are in need, I will let you guys know. I appreciate that we can all help them!!! Thanks!!!
OH, and did ask my feed guy. He usually knows everyone, and didn't know.

Well, one rooster will help. He will have to probably be older, if he is young, he will follow the hens on there adventures. Then when he gets older, he will be used to having all the woods as his playground. Breed that isn't loud? NOOOOOO If you have only one, at least there will not be competition for the loudest................
Alright thanks...I should have just kept my Little Roo. He was a sweetheart and told the people next door to shut up! I will probably just add to their run and make it larger... But if anyone ever comes to Gardners and wants to dump off an older but nice roo. I wont say anything! And we can just let hubby find him in the yard and I can just say poor Rooster he must have just been dumped, we should just keep him. I dont know where he came from to return him Dear!

I am imagining you waking up with 50 roosters on your lawn, and really NOT knowing where they came from.

Ok People, need to rant a bit.

My thought is, 'If you prefer to eat your store bought meat and close your eyes to how it is raised, that is your decision and right. I have no problems with it. What I DO have a problem with is the people who decide to tell my children that eating our own humanely raised animals is wrong.

To them, I say, 'if you're not a vegetarian, then just Shut Up.'

Hello ALL! :D

Does anyone have any feedback on Bee Keeping? I have what I think are Honey Bees in my Hollow tree. and I really can't have them in there. The BF tried to kill them, then I spoke to someone saying they are honey bees. And I had all ready had it in my mind I wanted to keep bees! Well holy cow must be meant to 'bee" LOL as there they are in my tree... SO I stopped him from his attempt at killing them, I hope, There are not as many right now, but after the Chemical and water treatment they got from the BF, I am not surprised. But I still see some going in and out of the hive location. I am considering getting some equipment together, and trying the Swarm chemicals i see online to move them into a hive that I can maintain. Thoughts?

Also, To keep this post chicken related, Blarneys eggs are due to hatch Monday or Wednesday Next week! Super Egg-cited, My Orp has 3-4 under how now, I tossed the eggs from my 3 girls after candling they were no good. I had Several in the incubator in the house as a back up Just in case she broke some or something... SO, 2 from the house I had to toss, 3 that are showing progress and are now on lock down, I took them off the turner last night, and put them on there sides and they "rolled" into their position, Hoping that is a good sign!! ( so I think I had 11 eggs? 9 from Blarney? 1 Kulled, 2 iffy, 6 Good. 3 from my girls, all Kulled.

Blarney, Looks like I will only have 1 cochin Mili Fluer that is going to hatch out of the 3, and I may have to keep it if it does.. Really hoping it hatches! your girls where soooo pretty! I want one!! LOL And since the BF said he would make me a 2nd coop area! :D

Hello All! :D I am SUPER new here and extra new to the world of 'chickening'. My husband and I are going to (hopefully) going to get 3-4 day old chicks next year for laying eggs. Two questions:

-Does anyone know a less expensive way to get a starter coop? My budget is about 100$ and I am scouring Craigslist everyday. Hubby and I have no building experience, so making our own is out of the question.

-Does any kind soul want to be a young woman's chicken mentor? Maybe someone who lives within an hour that I could meet with for some 'chicken chat' occasionally. I am about mid-county.

I apologize if this post is in the wrong place, this is my first online forum post anywhere! Have a great day!:p

Ok, my friends. I need help. I'm sorry this is Turkey not chicken, but I don't know where else to go at this point. There is a flock of turkeys that just recently appeared, and they seem to feel they want to live HERE. They came runnin for our yard and are incredibly friendly. They had trouble gettin up there, but eventually managed to get on my porch roof the first night and slept there. Then, last night, they came back and roosted right the heck on my front porch railing! They do all but sit in our laps!!!! They are begging for attenion, and I have a feeling they must have been domestic raised or they wouldn't be like this. I want ot help them, but don't want to be breaking some kind of law if they are really "wild" turkeys. Can someone tell me what they are and if I should help them? I am wlling to give them a safe happy home if they were dumped off, but not sure what is right to do. Called the wildlife center and they are at a loss. They told me to call turkey farms, but no one seems to know what to do. All I know is they are pooping all over, and I would prefer they not poop RIGHT HERE. Took me two hours to scrub my porch!!! Thanks!!!

I love the picture of the turkey looking in the window!

"I can Livez here?!? Ur house looks Nic!!"

Good luck though! Thanksgiving came early to your place :)
