Good Morning everyone! Hope everybody is enjoying this beautiful weather!

Just a question, can you guys give me your chicken count and the approximate size if your property that you keep them in? I'm pretty sure my slightly less than a 1/4 acre back yard will be enough room, but I'm curious as to what is a goodly amount.

*On a side note, it almost makes me laugh when I think about asking this, when you consider the factory farmed birds that are penned five to a cage. :hit. Has anyone seen the Wegmans chicken documentary that was out a few years back? :sick

*My back yard is probably like 1/8 of an acre, a decent size for the suburbs. And I am planning on 3-4 chickens. (Chooks, is that the right term?)

I am really bad at guessing sizes but here goes
Main layer yard
75ft x50ft of space with 2 coops and 1 grow pen within
Meatie pen
30ftx20ft with coop within (an old hay wagon converted to coop)
Grow out pens
5ftx15ft. There's 2 of these (converted corn bin)
In the barn is. Small brooder that's maybe 2x2. And 2 quail pens
Will not go into detail with brooders in the house

I house a lot more than 4 chickens, can you tell

Hey All I am from NY and purchased tickets to the seven springs fair held by Mother Earth News. I purchased them last year because I swore I was going to have time to go, but something came up. I figured I would post here for anyone who wanted them. I have two weekend passes and the coupon that came for the 25% off books. I think I also bought a parking pass but not sure, they sent me two decals for cars and I don't know if those are for parking or what not....lol It was so long ago.

Anyways they are free to anyone who wants them as I just don't want them to go to waste. I spent like fifty bucks on tickets and a dvd and would hate for someone to not enjoy the show and all the workshops involved.

8x15 run with 4x8 coop for about 15 chickens, numbers fluctuate.
8x8 run with 3x4 coop for 3 turkeys
15 ft diameter round pen with 4x4 box for 5 geese & 8 ducks (building new pens since this 1 is crowded)
4x8 run with 2x3 coop for 3 polish & a couple young roos
8x15 run with 3x4 coop for waterfowl grow-out, they move to adult pens when they get too big for this 1
8x15 run with 7x3 box for 13 ducks & 4 geese (again, too small, new pen being built)
8x8 run with 2.5x2.5 2-story coop for 2 geese & 7 ducks (also being replaced)

PLANNED:
4 pens for waterfowl 10x10 with 4x4 boxes to each hold about 10 bridr, mix of geese & ducks in each pen)
These will replace a lot of the pens listed above but the old pens will then get new birds as well.

Anyone want some free chicks? I have 2 barred cochin roos about 5 weeks old now will grow out to be 7-9lbs. I live in the spring grove area (between Hanover and York), will be at the York fair Sunday .
