Hello, alcoholics. I have a question. I began my last batch of wine about two months ago. It is still putting off gasses. It smells so good. I want to try it. Can I drink it? How long should it take to finish? My last batch took only four to six weeks. I am using bread yeast at room temperature.

Of course you can drink it! Just don't bottle it unless you like blown corks. My neighbor fermented natural juice in sealed bottles in the refrigerator. Loosens the caps about once a week to release pressure. Drinks it whenever. It never clears and is always bubbly.
I don't recommend that method but it works for him. He doesn't add yeast, just allows what is on the fruit naturally to do its job.

Are you talking about the horn rimmed? They are actually coming back into style!

Oh I should have hit 8 instead of 6. My gram had the same frames for 20 some years, just got the lenses changed. Like the MeeMaw (sp?) on the Nanny. And my gram was one of those, had her hair set once every two weeks, permed every other month, loved her home-decorated/seasonal sweat shirts (especially the ones us kids did) and her poly pants lol

Ahhh yes... My mom is a seasonal sweatshirt, poly pants (or sometimes jeans), nylons & white sneakers kind of woman! The wig she wears looks like her hair is set on a reg basis!

omg, broody hell....this morning my girl finally got off her tucas and joined the rest of the crew...I threw out the last egg and removed all the golf balls...the day went smooth a 4 of 6 girls laid...I removed all eggs...at dinner time I went out to have a supervised free range of my new baby...(he needs my protection from the big girls) and broody is back at it....sitting on nothing but pine shavings....tomorrow she get more eggs and I will begin suplementing her diet to keep her well...from a male perspective, I have never met a low maintenance women....

My chickens just LOVE LOVE LOVE raisins.......................they are like SOOOOOO AWESOME>>>>>>>>>>

they gobble them up and block each other from the food bowl.............OMG...............this is really funny.

I wonder if they think the raisins are like big fat bugs?

LOL, at least it's an honest statement. On the other hand I know MANY men who are much higher maintenance than I was during my very short lived "prissy stage" (as my mother called it)... which means they're primadonna material compared to how I am now lol

I have asked quite a few questions on here lately...another one: how many people use molasses in their feed (layers)? Just wondering
...right now I am giving the big-girls a "pre-packaged" layer mix that I ferment with ACV&/ yeast, I am adding a few oats to their FF when I dish it out...also...when we have "stale" cereal..the girls get that added in as well. We do not eat the sugary-kind..alot of shredded wheat/cherrios/honey-bunches odf oats...that kind of stuff. I am growing meal worms at this time, but they do take awhile to get built-up.....they also get veggies..what ever is around. Only as a "special" treat do they get a little bread. I know it really doesn't do much for them....
What else would be good to add/give them with the weather changing, and throughout the winter, that would help with their "energy" and laying production through the winter? Keep them in good health..

cool idea...I haven't tried raisins yet..hahaha. I am serious, these chickens are picky. Like today, I gave them our left over bag-salad (lettuce/cabbage/carrots), well..all but the carrots were gone! picky!...whatever..
