Wow, Brittany!! Yer coop is amazing, and love the name! Is your Dane bred, should we be expecting puppy pics?
She was 4 weeks on Monday. I think she is starting to show...My hubby just thinks I am crazy cause I want puppies! I am calling the vet this am to set up and appointment to confirm and try and see how many we should be expecting!!!

Peeps:

Sorry to hear....I have never lost a bird yet; but, I have heard a number of tales of perfectly healthy birds going south overnight...I think it just happens...

I promise I mean no offense at all when I say this, but why would you take her to the emergency room? Why not just remove it, keep the tick in a bag and watch the bite?

Chippy:

Deer ticks carry lyme....if you get bit, its SOP to do a 14-21 day of antibiotics to mitigate lyme....

I understand that. Why not just go to the doctor? I got bit by one two weeks ago. It didn't look good 3 days after so we went to the doctor. The doctor wasn't gonna give antibiotics but my mom said it would really make her feel better if she gave me some. I got one dose. That's all they would give me.

Well folks:

Another red tailed hawk made a pass at my flock today....fortunately a miss,,,,was on the phone, looking out the window, and heard the alert and then the fly through...led the pooches outside and the hawk saw them and flew off...I think I am fortunate that I have a good roo and that there is alot of bushes to the chooks to get under cover....hopefully they'll migrate and leave me alone....

Because her Dr was closed when we found it. Her Dr has an answering service and he called me back and said to take her to e.r. cuz they could make sure they remove it the right way so the head didn't get left. If it was me, I probably wouldn't have went, but when it comes to my kids I won't chance it. No offense taken.

Red tailed hawks are the worst. I had a mean light sussex roo and he fought off a hawk once. They're always a constant worry around here. We have soooo many.
