We were planning to go tomorrow, but changed it to Thursday due to the cold. I want to be home to keep a check on my chickens & quail and keep the wood stove going.Going to the Farm Show tomorrow. Crazy cold, but at least it's inside.

and in layman's terms? HA! I will re-read and read that pdf in the morning if the kids go to school.. Not sure on school, 2hr delay so far***smooth cell surfaces (i.e., no flagella) and lack of trehalose outside the cytoplasm improved survival rates after freeze-drying. Because desiccation is important for survival during storage, the presence of extracellular polysaccharides or teichoic acids is disadvantageous for long-term survival. The lower survival rates of freeze-dried Gram-negative bacteria compared with those of Gram-positive bacteria may be attributed to the thinner peptidoglycan layer and the presence of lipopolysaccharides on the cell wall in the former species.
***This is what I am trying to find out...can't seem to find a site with specific (Marek's)cell description(s) ....my eyeballs are starting to hurt from he laptop light.......

I will have a read tomorrow mine eyes are so tired, time for some rest!Sally..have you seen this one....http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18323678
it is interesting..now, what is the composition/structure of the Mareks cells....that will- maybe give an idea as to weather it is still viable after freeze drying...still not going to be raising or feeding them now to the birds, but it is good to know...
