I'm enjoying this winter weather. I think of all the gardeners, that will have a substantially less number of harmful bugs and diseases in their gardens (I am also a gardener). I think in the long run this hard winter will benefit us more than we can imagine. It might be difficult to deal with it now, but I strongly believe it will leave us with a lot of positive side effects in this next year. Especially for the gardeners.
I felt it was getting to the point of an almost impossibility of trying to raise good healthy vegetables without the need to use a lot of pesticides and fungicides to keep the plants producing well, so in spite of this hard winter I am very glad we are getting what we're getting. This extended cold weather will kill off a lot of the bugs that our mild winters allowed to live, obviously it won't kill them all but it will weed out a lot of them (the strong survive
). I'm not glad that we struggle with a hard winter, but like I said, I am glad for this extended cold weather. With my job I work outside in it most days. If it's 10 degrees or less, and/or windy we will wait until 10 am to go to work, but if it's 10 and above we'll be out there working. This morning we have 3 degrees, we will go to the job at 9 and work and it's outside too. I look at my situation and make the best of it, and it works. I don't intend to offend anyone but I am really enjoying this weather.
Hatching season is upon me.
