They split the 6 because the other 2 were bantams. I had to put them in with the other 4 to keep warm on the trip. Don't ask how I keep tropical fish warm on the motorcycle. How did they let you get 4? Mine requires you get at least 6 at a time.
It makes sense. If you get 8 they will split them, 4 to a box... Some may allow lower #s if they are low on chicks and they are trying to finish off a bin.... if there are only 4 left they would most likely sell them (depends on age of chicks though and if they are getting more shipped or not)How did they let you get 4? Mine requires you get at least 6 at a time.

Sorry i haven't PM'd you back MC. I will tomorrow probably. It takes forever to type on this darn iPod.
I just candled all 15. One definite clear and two porous, undecideds. If I have 13 hatch out of 15, it will literally be a flashback. I'm hatching on the anniversary of my very first hatch ever that made me a chicken owner, and I hatched 13 out of 15 eggs.So that'd be the coolest if it works out that way but you never know.![]()

All of Gracie's eggs were fertile by the way fisher. I checked again last night because I thought it was only 3 but actually all of them are growing. Here's a pic:![]()
I edited a little so you could see it on the camera. To the naked eye, it's much more detailed and awesome.
That is so cool!! DH will be tickled... he loves the Gracie babies with the puffy heads...
Okidoki ^^ Thanks. I'm pretty full up on feed bags at the moment. Can't seem to find time to sit down at the sewing machine! lolKiomey, Until it is dry.

I have to ask, where do the fish go???
gonna try some kind of potato bin this year
A home made stackable potato bin for the garden. Nice idea. Don't know how it worked out for him.
I use everyday zip ties, in different color combo's,,,for instance I have a pen of dominique but they came from 2 different breeders so they have a different color tie on them,,,,all the dom's have a green tie on the left leg but some have a black tie on the right and some have a white tie on the left....I hope that made senseHello, I am trying to get some information from someone who has experience with leg banding their birds. In getting to the point where I have to many birds to know who is who just by sight alone. So I order to keep track for breeding purposes I am wanting to leg band them for parentage and also age etc book keeping purposes. I found leg bands sold in packs of 25 numbered accordingly up to 100. I mainly have Cochins and brahmas and was looking at the 3/4 inch bands, but do also have some wyandottes, barnevelders, ameraucana, and marans. Being they lack the leg feathering and size would the same size for them or should I buy a 25 pack or a smaller size for them? Also with the heavily feathered legged breeds how do you put the leg band on? Do you pluck the feathers or just put it on top over the leg feathers. Thank you for your help. It's my first time buying them so some knowledge would be thankfulhere is a link to the type I was looking at.

depends on the breed,,,I just put one in the freezer Sat,,,he weighed at 17 pounds processed. One week, one day, and 12 +? hours until I get my first turkey poults!![]()
And whoever said that people don't know how big they get, there is a reason for that. No one is telling us! I have searched, and I have asked. I know a wild turkey tom gets to about 4'. I am in the dark about the other turkeys.
I might have a seven foot turkey, and think it is normal.![]()

Nope, I loved most minutes of it. But let me tell you, when I wanted to getYou poor man,,,,I bet you have some emotional scarring
yes they will be available. they will be sold as a work type light instead I forget what they called them in the articles I was reading about them. I did my homework on that one, there are other types of lights that also give off the necessary heat as well. I wouldnt put a heating element in a cooler, I have seen it done but I wouldnt do it. http://sfist.com/2013/12/27/did_you_know_incandescent_light_bul.php
