I also forgot to tell you guys, we picked up the last of our chicks on Sunday, 4 wyandottes (one partridge, one BLR, one splash, and one blue). We finally finished our flock lol. That brings us to 4 PRs, 4 EEs, 2 Marans, and 4 wyandottes. That's our starter flock and I'm hoping for a very colorful egg basket lol
Oh MY Gosh!! I just love cute little pancake babies! I've often noticed the bigger breeds flattening themselves out like that.... I guess Banty Cochins doo too.

So I am guessing that Shady Maple is some type of country store or large diner? We would love to make a get together... but where is it before we commit? LOL Huge Smorgasborg, with very unique country store in basement, across parking lot is a HUGE supermarket with the best donuts you will EVER encounter. Next door is a 'Goods' with all kinds of stuff and within a mile is 'Shirks' animal health, carrying just about any meds you will need for any of your livestock. Well worth the trip.
I was going to make a joke about 'Turduckin', but since yer new.... lots of people raise their ducks with chickens, the ducks tend to be a bit messy, they get water everywhere.
They split the 6 because the other 2 were bantams. I had to put them in with the other 4 to keep warm on the trip. Don't ask how I keep tropical fish warm on the motorcycle.
I would love to meet up with some of you at Shady Maple - but it's over 2.5hrs away. I would need birds to bribe me there. Anyone selling anything I want? LOL!
One week, one day, and 12 +? hours until I get my first turkey poults!
And whoever said that people don't know how big they get, there is a reason for that. No one is telling us! I have searched, and I have asked. I know a wild turkey tom gets to about 4'. I am in the dark about the other turkeys.
I might have a seven foot turkey, and think it is normal.

If you get 8 they will split them, 4 to a box...
Some may allow lower #s if they are low on chicks and they are trying to finish off a bin.... if there are only 4 left they would most likely sell them (depends on age of chicks though and if they are getting more shipped or not)
It makes sense.
Sorry i haven't PM'd you back MC. I will tomorrow probably. It takes forever to type on this darn iPod.
I just candled all 15. One definite clear and two porous, undecideds. If I have 13 hatch out of 15, it will literally be a flashback. I'm hatching on the anniversary of my very first hatch ever that made me a chicken owner, and I hatched 13 out of 15 eggs.
So that'd be the coolest if it works out that way but you never know.
All of Gracie's eggs were fertile by the way fisher. I checked again last night because I thought it was only 3 but actually all of them are growing.
Here's a pic:
I edited a little so you could see it on the camera. To the naked eye, it's much more detailed and awesome.
I love that candle pic! shhhweetness GO GRACIE babes GO!

Do you make the aprons out of them? I am so tired of the ring of bleach spots on my big belly all the time, I was thinking of making one but my machine is broke, I guess I could get creative and use ductape around the edges and as straps

Here are my 'tandom broodies', Popcorn, my tried and true best girl is in the front there, she's brooding with a hatch mate, they also both have 'Silkie' genes...I think it helps if they are the same breed to tandom hatch. My thoughts on broodiness is that it's a bit like the plague. Once one of them starts brooding, they ALL get in the game. One of the reasons I move my broody Mommas out of the main coop, so I don't lose out too much on egg production.
