I do cot's for the quick growth and high turnover,,,,,my philipine (spelling) customers get 2 to 3 dozen at a time over the summer months,,,,I guess he uses them for cookouts like we would chicken

I love the broodies! And really envious of the hut! Awesome broody zone for you!

Both are beautiful... but I am really, really loving the look of Popcorn.... I am a sucker for the laced neck feather look!

Awwww! Yes, popcorn is my bestest girl. That was the first broody brooder we ever built. We have 3 more now, which I am supposed to be maintaining through the winter so they are ready now...We have made several changes since that first one. The run on that one is 2 x4 and the box is 2 x 2. We now make the box 1 1/2 by 3 and the run is 5 1/2 by 3, more run space, less coop space. The roof now opens to 2 sections (one for coop, one for run, this makes it much easier for feeding and watering without birds escaping and the run has a door for letting them range. I move the whole thing into the main coop's run for a few days before joining the babies with the birds in the main coop, sees to work well.

This is also a quick fix for a quarantine pen. I've been re~painting and caulking the past few days to get them in working order for the Spring.
