Kiomey, is Betty a blue wyandotte?
I'm having a bit of a dilemma picking the breed that I want in spring. DP said that I could get a hen and my sister could get a hen. We'll hatch them and then keep a pullet from each batch. I wanted a mottled bantam cochin but I'm not sure I want one of those anymore. I have some criteria:
-no bantams
-single comb
-clean legged
-big,classic, hen
-good egg producer
-docile, but with personality
-able to be shown easily
-comes in blue (I really want a blue chicken)
I was thinking blue marans. What do you guys think?
Blue or lavender orpington would also fit those criteria
I put everything together in the incubatorCan you incubate ducks and chickens togethrr?

need eggs for the easter hatch, will set some of my own, but who has what for sale that can get here in time..??
Quote: If I clean out roosters and some of the non producing hens (I am working on it, but he has been working weekends) he would be okay with adding to the layer flock.
I was searching e bay but I hate to go that route,,,I have no luck with shipped eggs...
but there's a auction going for MF leghorn that is really tempting..also 2 dozen midget white turkey but a little pricey $75 plus shipping right now...
