Can someone on here tell me how poultry auctions work. Say you have 5 chickens that you want to sell. I know you fill out a paper, but what else and who do you give the money to if you buy some from someone else? I've never been to a poultry auction before ( obviously), but I just want to get an idea on what you have to do to sell and buy some.

I LOVE an auction, you should find a local one and just sit and watch for a while. They all work a little different, but generally, you start off by finding the office and getting yourself a number. At Green Dragon small animal auction you pay as you bid (they'll take your cash as they hand off your 'prize') Most other auctions I've been to you pay at the end

Well today was a rough one. Took all the older chicks outside today for some play time, and tonight I found my smallest silkie runt had passed, my daughter had just finally decided to name her Mini today (shes 3 and a mickey mouse fanatic.lol) It was so sad , i just am not having luck with my little runts. past 2 were silver partridge, and both died around the same age.I am just glad that her last day was a good day.
But to lighten the mood, which I desperately needed, I think my Holland doe Autumn is bred! This will be her first litter, which normally doesn't turn out well...but possible fuzzy babies in the next 4 weeks?? crossing my fingers! xxx! : )

Oh boy. That is a rough day. . :hugs

So you don't wait until the end to get your New addition? Oh and about how much should I expect to pay them for auctioning my chickens off ( I heard there is a percentage you have to pay them)?
