Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I was checking creek level today and saw a critter, may have a mink? Looked too big to be a weasel. Didn't know they were here. It was near the waters edge, bearing in mind the water level was near Bank full.
May have been a Fisher... double check your perimeter security for the coop!

coop progress as of the other day. Haven't been able to do a darn thing with this rain since then though. I'm so ready to get it done lol.

ok, I'm done hogging the thread. I just can't resist putting up pictures while I have signal lol
Not thread hogging at all! Love seeing the pics! The chicks are growing like weeds and are so cute...

Someone called your coop a chicken castle and I have to agree! You are going to have some very lucky birds! Beautiful job on the build!

maybe a Fisher? We see them a lot around here
My first thought too... I put a link above about them. Another game commission idea which is going to rapidly become a headache for property and small animal owners!

What happens when you put two chicken addicts together? Does that actually happen? Hubs helps with the work but not sure he is very into them. I can only imagine a couple with the same interests! That could be deadly! ha ha ha

We have that here... what happens is that you end up buying a shed twice as large as the one that had to be torn down because the person who originally set it (previous home owner) didn't take the time to provide a good base and drainage and the floor rotted out...
Extra space was needed to store chicken processing equipment and allows us to expand the run to join the two sheds and will have space to put in two breeding pens in the new shed so we can get pure hatching eggs of our own...
... having 2 chicken people means that someone is soft hearted enough that every broody hen gets a clutch of eggs and we now have 25 broody raised chicks we need to sell and 3 more are setting on eggs yet!
....having 2 chicken people means days off of work can be spent doing chicken chores together and making long trips for hatching eggs as a day out together instead of them being an inconvenience
....having 2 chicken people means you waste a lot of time in the evenings hanging out in the coop or yard watching the birds being goofy or just doing their thing!
... having 2 chicken people means that what could have been a small scale hobby to get eggs and an occasional meal now gets more expensive because no one talks sense into the other when we get the urge to buy something new for the coop or birds!

How cute is this?

Quote: Oh no....flooding is awful here too. This is the first time since we've been here that we have been stuck at our property because of the water level. We're pretty high up on a hill, but there's only one way in and out and it's along the Brandywine. This pic is what it looked like at 4pm, at 7 it was over the railroad tracks and a foot of water on the road. Doubt we'll have school tomorrow.

Quote: Nope, but at least I know what they look like now...there are all kinds of fungi in my woods, have to take a better look and see if we have any morels.

i forgot to mention, i got eggs from florida today, the po was really on their best behavior, box and eggs in perfect condition, the only thing, they sent them to the wrong po, the one 20 miles away, 40 round trip

but i'll take it, as long as they didn't play kickball with the box
