Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

So I've gotten myself into another predicament here... Nothing new, I'm always getting myself into something lol.
Anyway, we got a text a couple of days ago from my cousin asking if we could come over and execute a white duck that she thinks killed one of the smaller ducks he's been living with for the past 2 years. I had my doubts about him having anything to do with the death of this other duck since they've been having a problem with a weasel lately. But we said we'd come over when my husband was off work. When we got there today what I saw didn't quite match up with what we'd been told. She has six smaller ducks, 3 males and 3 females in the pen with this big guy. I don't know much about ducks but they're the ones that look like little mallards. Anyway, when we went in to catch the white one we were supposed to be killing the one little drake started beathing the heck out of him. Chasing him around relentlessly and ripping feathers out of him and grabbing his tail and just going nuts on him. Seems to me it was either this little bugger or the weasel that was actually responsible for the death of the other little duck. I couldn't see killing this poor guy for a crime he hadn't committed. Besides the fact that he's about 2 yrs past the age when he'd even be any good for eating.

Now I've got this big white duck quacking around my yard and have no idea where to go with it. I posted it on my local PA swap page on facebook. But I don't know what else to do. I know we really can't keep him. But I don't know where to go with him either.

Why do I do this to myself! XD
I wouldn't of done it either! Sounds like it was the little feisty one or a weasel. You will never find out either. Awhile back something got one of my roosters and never found out what it was. oh and how do you get to your local PA swap page on facebook? What is it called?

I usually don't have my phone with me when I see it and by the time I would get it he wouldn't be doing it anymore. They are on an organic grower formula. I don't know the exact protein that it has. I got it from a mill that a neighbor of @borderbigade operates. Then I ferment it for them. I give them a few meal worms every now and then. Thinking maybe they need more proein? I can try to get a video of it but chances are slim.

For Chippy and Auro:

I've had my roo not accept one of my BOs back into the flock after she was attacked by a fox....and the junior roo supports the big roo...she's been beaten up a couple of times before I understood what was going on....my mistake...separate the birds and try to get a different dynamic going before re-introduction...its a real pain when you like both birds...from what you both posted, these are dominance issues...there's a big learning curve to get a flock to sync up...think Fisher's crew is pretty settled....

I was going to put my duck in the wire divider this weekend but it may be pushed back a week. Then after he's integrated in he'll be getting a girlfriend and we'll habe to integrate her in after quarentine. Then we'll have to integrate my sister's new serama chick in once she's big enough... :barnie

I will have to go to Clinton County for pictures again tomorrow (thought of you today went I went through NB on my way to Central Ave to take ONE PICTURE) but don't think I will hit Mackeyville. Don't know their greenhouse. Where is it? I do have to go to Mill Hall and probably Salona, so yeah, maybe I will hit Mackeyville after all. I was in Blanchard today also. And Bellefonte. I got a request for Bloomsburg info but no order yet. The yellow area on the map is what we cover, don't know why it is so Clinton-full lately.

Anyone else suffer damage from the storm? Our road is closed also the bridge on the main road in and out of town is shot, I'll be driving the long way around for some time to come.:barnie

My brooders were soaked through yesterday, so I cleaned them out and put dry bedding, half my garden washed away, but no serious damage to our home or property.

Sorry you have the miserable clean up to get done,, but glad it wasn't worse for you... we didn't have trouble here other than a few branches, which aren't a big deal, but then again an elevation of 1900+ feet on the top of the ridge kinda puts me out of the flood plain. Now high winds and lightening....
