Now, Blue and Joel are always facing off, hackles raised but Luna never does that. She also has NO copper coloring on her at all. Then again neither does Joel but he has that beautiful green Sheen. So, opinions

If their bodies are warmer then they aren't trying so hard to stay warm & are more willing to fork over the eggs. I won't use it in summer, but it has gotten my girls back in gear the past 2 winters. Luna is a girl. Her comb would be much bigger at this age like the other 2 roos if she were a boy. Marans get huge combs, even the hens, but the roos are always bigger.

Thank you ! I didn't realize ...I will be trying at some point this winter!! I just hope this one won't be near as intense as last!!

I have my garden in and They are staying in their run now...I know they would make a bee-line for those tiny new green things coming up out of the dirt!! I would love to let mine out too, but until we have a fence up around the garden...no-way!! Too much work went into that! I am having an issue with rabbits in my strawberries right now, thereis actually a nest full of babies..(must get a pic!)...there was a significant drop in the rabbit number for the last couple years, but this year seems to be a tremendous influx of them...we are being over-run!!

...The momma was out in the yard and two-males were chasing her around..crazy! Should I move the nest or leave it...

...I really don't want to loose my plants, we were really looking forward to berries this year-finally, and the rhubarb is up and looking awesome...*sigh*...

I am just going to order poults this year, either from Stromberg's or Meyer's....
Do you want me to wait a couple weeks, you could just add to my order, then I would not need so many.
Stromberg's is 15 on turkey and Meyer's is 20,,, I really do not want that many
