......Sally- Frizzles are so cute!! Was wondering what egg size they lay, I am guessing pretty small...are these guys mostly for "eye-candy" & companionship?

Not that I don't haveEnough to do, but...

I ordered about 150 trees and shrubs. A lot of stuff I'll never get to enjoy, I'll be dead before they mature, but I need to do something with a big open field in a flood plain. Also a buffer for the creek.
what types of trees?

Sorry! Baby Goats + Camera = Thread Hog

Never too young to joust! The boy on the right is a whopping 4 1/2 pounds! The other two weigh only 2 1/2

My son is completely smitten with these babies.

seeing your son holding the one shows everyone just how tiny they are , just the pictures don't, they look like normal sized babies, my friend has the little ones, i can't believe how tiny they are.

White oak, sugar maple, highbush cranberry, northern bayberry, snowberry, crabapple, all for wildlife, and hybrid poplar as screen/ fast cover/ lousy firewood. Oh, and elderberry.

I know, I'll be dead before the oak and maple are nice. It's called caring for the land for the next generation, whoever they may be.

These eggs vary as her hens all vary in size, some are tiny tiny and some are bigger than tiny tiny LMAO!!! some are white some are cream.
The kids fight over them for breakfast, she has so many ppl on her waiting list so they havent eaten any for months now, Lucas had one in his shorts pocket the other day, he was itching to snatch it for eating! Kids favorite eggs for dippy, (the CCL too, they fight over those, but again, i have to buy eggs as I dont have any from our flock, even the CCLxBR are sold as hatching eggs, they were to be our table eggs!) anyways, they love triple toads in a hole, deviled egg cuteness, perfect for salads and to die for as red beet eggs.

Must I go on? They are the sweetest things ever, they eat very little, poop very little, and give more for us than any other breed we own, coming in a good second to our White Faced Spanish who lay like white eggs like madness!

Checked on the garden and hubby just can not scale back, he plants as if we are still feeding growing kids, so much excess every year....I am on a mission to use the green beans this year and make some leather britches, can anyone shed some light on this subject,,,,,can they hang in the barn rafters...

No, not the kind you wear...

If nothing else they will make cool decorations.

...hahaha, Those maples don't take too long to grow., 5-8 years ..they should be a good 8-10 feet...how big are they when they get to you? ., I guess it would depend on the variety huh?.....Sugar Maples used to grow likes weeds at the old house I grew up in...always pulling those thing out!

Thank you for the input!! You know I love it...hahaha Well now...frizzles sound like a little birdie that would be very good for me and my situation...They are just so darn cute!! My Mom really wanted one when I was first talking about getting chickens..she said "Danielle, please..you have to get at least one of these little guys"....she likes anything different.

I think the next go-around for bird purchases, there will be a more eclectic group in the yard..I do LOVE my Wyandottes..but I think an adventure into other breeds is calling....Thanks again Sally!I
