Ditto...that's great news!! And to think I heard it first on BYC

you also! ..nice looking flock . What are those gray birds, have the darker gray lacing?..very pretty. The red combs and wattles really stand out.
I thought that the arbor vitae were toxic in some particular way, I am NOT an expert though..maybe when digested in larger quantities & maybe not to chickens..wow, i am such a big help

...looks like some research is in order.
The gray birds are young blue copper marans... the copper hasn't appeared yet. From what I've read, arbor vitae berries are toxic to chickens.

No, no it's yew berries that are toxic ...sorry!!!!

I spent the night in Brookville, PA. This morning I was in the bathroom with a person wearing yellow hotpants. He had nice legs, I have to give him that! He was ignorant in general, but we had a nice conversation while he put on his makeup. Headed for Chicago with cocoa.
Haha. Sounds like every day will be a new adventure. I seen these ornaments at Michael's today. They were on sale for 40% off. Don't think my family will like chickens on the tree. They put up with my Barbie dolls but barely lol. House full of men.
I LOVE these! Kinda quirky.. :love

I am sure you will meet some interesting people on this journey, keep us posted. Homebound in Lancaster county does not seem to interesting to me but for some reason others like to stop and take pics,,,, not sure if I should be scared or flattered when this happens....
This past weekend I took a drive over to Lititz to pick up a rooster. Took the scenic route across the top of rapho and Penn Twp. My traveling companion was admiring the scenery, my comment was "people pay to come see this, I consider it just ruining an errand." There were a couple Mennonite (i think, didn't look like right clothing colors to be amish) children standing beside the old store in Mastersonville. Her comment was it looked just like a postcard. We often fail to see what is around us every day.
You guys didn't ask me to go along, I always like to see how others do their set ups. Guess you are right, it is hard to see what is in front of you some days......my biggest pet peeve is the friends from the city who routinely comment to me, " it would be so great to live the easy life as you do"... I keep digging with the pitchfork and I can not find this so called easy life.... I do understand what they are trying o say, it is just how they say it....
My oldest son's gf is finding out the hard way just how much work goes into living on even a mini farm. She was so excited about moving out here...til reality set in. Now she's not so fond of taking care of animals, collecting & breaking/cutting firewood, heating water on the fire, taking showers with a cup & 5 gal bucket, cooking all meals on the fire, etc. She really needs to just go back to town...lol

I have a lot of LGBT friends, but still not sure I wouldn't have had a comment if an obvious male was in the women's bathroom. CHICKEN ORNAMENTS...a requirement for every chicken keeper's tree!!!
