Been trying to talk hubby into rabbits. He doesn't think he can process them since they are furry. He doesn't want any more birds lol. He is happy with chickens and ducks.

Bgirl:

Had to dig out Wens night...its a PIA.....was looking here to cover the run(s)....

looks too good to eat!....next step is turduckin.....

Thanks, I had forgotten about PVC pipe for a covered run. I only need it to lasts couple years.

It was delicious! Can't get into Turducken, it just doesn't sound appealing.

We are heading to the Vet's with the latest stray DH befriended. Poor thing showed up during the 5¤ cold snap we had and we didn't have the heart to chase her off. Not her fault someone was an a**hole and dropped her off when she wasn't a cute kitty anymore. She is going for shots and a spay so even if she chooses to stray she will be relatively healthy and not adding to the population.

Thanks for spaying and releasing, that's what I would do!

That's hilarious! And love your new avatar!

Thanks Annie.

That's Bambi, my 100+ pound lap dog. She's a long haired rottweiler.

Thanks, I just did not trust my memory, no matter how many times I do these things I find my self looking in the book to be sure, unfortunately I can not find it this time.
I have some boys resting in my fridge that need to go to camp, seemed like a good day for it.

I think you are correct with everything you listed above. Although the new books don't list raw pack, at least mine didn't.

Was the SO down when you canned the chicken?
I am listening to the sounds of the canner and thinking that must of freaked her out, I can not imagine you trying to tell her it was normal

Here is Bambi's buddy Thumper. He was a rescue from someone that didn't feed him as a puppy. He was caught on the couch and gave me the eyes lol
your pups are beautiful Barbie

Our house still smells heavenly

..every time DH warms something up it makes me so hungry..hahaha
Our turkey may have been on the smaller size, but it made everything up in flavor...we were contemplating NOT doing turkey again next year..well...it IS official..we WILL be raising turkey (BBW) ...just tastes way to good!

I was completely surprised today when daughter & i went Black Friday shopping...no lines, the parking lot was almost empty...we walked right in and proceeded to everything she had on her list like it was just another day...crazy. I have shopped BF before, never was it like this....IDK, maybe because of the extended shopping days

..not complaining..just very surprised.
It was a pleasurable experience.

Everything was so frozen yet. We couldn't do anything. So stinking cold :( We were hoping for some melt off to be able to fix everything. hoping to be able to fix it soon!

Fresh home grown turkey tastes way better than store bought by far. Hopefully I can talk hubby into getting some more turkeys next year

I did black Friday too but we started last night at 7:30. We shopped for 10.5 hours lol. I didn't get the door busters I was after but between my friend and I, we packed her SUV to the point where nothing else would fit lol. I've been sleeping off and on ALL DAY today lol

you described what my mother & I would do years ago..when the girls were MUCH younger..and we were too..hahaha...
This year was the first in a VERY long time..was nothing like years past. ..but then they didn't have a week of "specials"..and 3-days of "door-busters".
Glad to hear you had a good time

Yeah...the turkey is a definite "go" for next year! Maybe it will pan-out again with having a broody to raise them up for us...that really helped..didn't have to worry about brooders, lights and temps..so great!!
