Well, I started up a small incubator and put 5 CCL eggs in . . .

I told dh that I am grabbing the incubator when we get through the house Wednesday.

Sweet! I just ordered 2 more. I tried to order 4, but it limited me to 2. Given that they usually go for about $35, this is a great deal.

You can never have too many heated water bowls.

This morning I killed my first animal.

I went to do my morning rounds of taking care of the crew and heard a horrible growl. I peeked around the one coop and seen a raccoon in the trap. I was so glad we were able to get the one run covered after seeing that.

I must have been a sight in my Pj's with my rubber boots and the bb gun that looks like a rifle walking in my backyard this morning. lol At least I don' t have to worry about it getting out and hurting my chickens!! It was a mean SOB too. It was growling and charging at me in the trap. What we do to keep our critters safe.

they usually are bg, my gd didn't want us to shoot the last one we caught, til she got her face close to look at it, when it jumped, scared her so bad she was glad when her father shot it.

Nothing like doing morning chores with 2 baby bunnies in your bra, they didn't make it, but least she still has 9 live one's.

Looking like a rooster with the streamers, I only ever had one hen that developed them.
And not much difference between bunnies and chicks except momma bunnny does most of the work.
