if you guys are in a area where you cannot fire off a shotgun or just don't want to hurt the hawk, get an airsoft gun, it will sting but not kill the hawk, but it will get it's attention.

First night in the cabin. Wood stove not set up yet & the electric heater hasn't been on long enough to see if it will do much. We are each burried under about 5-6 layers of blankets. Have to finish running wiring, hooking up water & woodstove & organizing this mess tomorrow. Help is supposed to be coming. My son cut down several trees today, so I should have enough firewood for a while.
it is always a great idea to have secondary heat source or power!!@Cynthia12 Yup, everything has a place so far except washer & dryer...and I WILL find room...lol It's not very big, but a lot bigger than my rv that I have been in since June.
@AnneInTheBurbs We have hot water...heated in a pan on the hot plate, woodstove or firepit. Shower is a 5 gal bucket & a cup. The bathroom in the rv has a tiny shower stall for privacy. This is only temporary as I will be building a shower & am ordering an instant hot water heater. I'm just debating on whether I want propane or electric. Electric would save me having to buy propane, but propane would allow hot water even without electric. I have been warned that electric goes out A LOT here. My son & I are discussing getting a backup generator. He & his gf are staying in the rv for now but are planning on putting another cabin in beside mine in a couple months.

That is an excellent idea, but money is tight right now as we have some known expenses coming up. Every morning, I let the girls out, and then leave the window open a crack while I read so I can hear any disturbances. *Nerd Alert!*
anyone in west chester that can pick up a rooster..
Attacking kids and just needs it gone.. a little bit of a drive for me
Has anyone tried the Night-gard predator lights? They are normally about $20 each, but Jeffers has a 4 pack for sale Wednesday for $45. Don't want to get them if they are a waste of money though.
I haven't tried these, but for $45, if you can spare it, seems like a good deal. It's rowdy out there. My neighbor texted me to let me know her hubby saw the fox creeping last night. She also said her friend about 20 minutes away had her flock wiped out (10+ chickens) the night before. My mailman said today his friend in the next town over put out a trap and caught 6 foxes (in pretty developed suburbia). Glad my girls are locked up until I let them out.
Do you guys manually close your doors every night?
