They like pretty much anything LF and things that are different (not as common). I prefer something that is a decent egglayer, so it can help pay for itself, lol. Something on the docile side like their Cochins.

For showing, not all breeds are recognized and have classes. If showing (and winning) is important, the will play into the breed selection process. I don't show (anymore, I did in 4-H), so may not be the best to advise you.

Do you have an incubator to hatch eggs you might buy, or are you looking for chicks?

She showed up with us when this batch of littles was a few days old.... we watched her carry them to the barn, one at a time(there's 3)...

I officially HATE winter.

Yesterday's ice and last night's snow coating did me in this morning. Went to take care of everyone and I was really being careful and I fell and slid about 5 feet down my hill. I was at the top of my hill and I had to try to stand back up and grab the chicken feed and make it down the rest of the hill without falling again. Of course I landed on my arthritic hip. Looks like I will be hobbling around for the rest of the day. Not looking forward to checking for eggs later.

When I fall like that I always end up sitting there laughing for like five minutes on the ice. I would not laugh at someone else, though. I hope you do not fall again.
