New to chickens but just ordered our first batch of meat birds and hens. (I'm so excited) Anyways originally I am from Vermont and now I live in Shavertown, PA. Which is Luzerne county.

Anyone know of any farm auctions out here? (Luzerne area) I'm willing to travel. When I lived in Vermont I used to go to an auction in NY that sold everything from farm equipment to animals. Haven't found anything here except product auctions. I'm considering making the trek up to ny one night just for the auction.

It's rather far, but there are some in Lancaster county, especially in the spring. Also look up mud sales. Anything and everything.
There are animal auctions in Lancaster county weekly at the two markets, roots and green dragon.
I'm sure there are some closer to you.

I have an order going into Bass for cages, if anywhere near me wants to add to it to save on shipping, give a holler with in a couple days..

I'm good. 16 cages is enough for me.

I saw a video on Facebook. The guy took the outer skin out of the jar to make it easier to see if all the skin was off the cloves.
I do use a whole bulb when I can sauce. But it only makes a few jars. :-D Want a kiss?!?! :-X

Ahem! You know darn well I was up past three, and was in dire need of a shower this morning (I was such a dirty little girl lastnight! ;-D). I had only been out of bed for about twenty minutes at that point.

There is something to be said about being completely alone - no husband or animals- and not having a single reason to get up in the morning! Having no tv or Internet stinks, but is just another reason to sleep! Better to sleep than do housework!!

 no housework!!...awesome!.& extra sleep..okay, I am jealous now....DH is very good about his messes..he doesn't make them, BUT...I can say that with the dogs and myself..it is a bit more..ummm, or less in need of a vacuum..don't tell him that though..hahaha ..hahaha...

Just spent some time looking at what Ameracaunas are supposed to look like. Mine don't look like any of the colors. Do I just have easter eggers?

These are backyard pets, but they are Americaunas. New chicks from this year.

It's not a recognized color and I believe it is a Partridge base color.

Not completely sure though.
