They are all attractive, I don't know what the parentage mix is but I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more change in the next month or two... I have a couple now who are changing almost weekly (pencilled parentage makes for some strange patterns)
I'd like to see the bottom one in particular on about June 1st....

Parentage is lemon cuckoo with limited barring Orpington over BBS Orpington.
This is my second year hatching this mix. The blue and yellow don't change much, I get rid of them. The yellow black can grow up like this:

This was in February from last year's hatch.

That makes for some interesting markings for sure! Why get rid of the Blue? I'm not great with some of the unusual colors, since I don't breed them, but most 'blue' birds I've seen are very attractive to my eye...

Oh no fellow enablers! I'm getting another coop. ....FREE! Our part time neighbors up the street (cabin) got rid of all their chickens and aren't getting any more. I'm guessing cause it's too much of a pain to come out here to maintain them. They were just going to burn it up but offered it to me. It's insulated and wired. It's not huge but it's big enough to be either a grow out pen or seperation pen. It's probably 5 x 3. My husband didn't even bat an eye when I told him lol.

looks like they are having some "chicken-fun"! That is a nice compost set-up there!

Thank you! We threw that together a couple weeks ago. It's about 30 ft back into the woods asking the edge of our property.

Heat lamp would be better for the albino imo... I found mine just stumbled around the brooder until they finally found the ecoglow... Plus, the red light would camoflauge their red eyes. My "normal" babies pecked the CRAP out of the albinos eyes for the first week, it was so sad.

Sounds like a catch 22 as it would disguise the red eyes, but possibly injure them as they are more sensitive too. :( perhaps it'll be okay since you said it was better after a few weeks?

Now the fun begins! They look good! We have about 50 CX which will (thankfully) be ready in the next couple of weeks....

Today I am pressure canning broth, onion soup, chicken and making chicken mush for use with the dogs.....
When we process 2 or 3 roosters we just freeze all of the meat, bones and organ meat and then when we have a large enough amount we take a day and process it the rest of the way.

so far today the total is 9 qts of chicken broth, 5 qts of rooster in a jar, 6 pints of onion soup and about 5 lbs of chicken mush.

Now I need to figure out what to make for dinner!

That sounds like a busy day! I think you deserve something good to eat for dinner!

The last eggs I received were marked "Fragile - Honey"
I suppose that makes the employees think about what a mess that might be to clean, so they try not to break it.
