I bought 12 chicks from tractor supply when they dropped the price to .75. The first one has feathers like a silkie but it doesn't have black skin or 5 toes. I assumed all the chicks would be pure breed but maybe not. Anyone know where tractor supply gets their chicks? Please help me ID them! The last 3 are super tiny. I'm hoping the yellow one is a serama. I'm also pretty sure the yellow and black one is Ancona chicken.![]()

Welcome neighbor! I'm just in Warminster.
One thing I have learned from having chickens is that you never pay for a Rooster. Someone always is looking to re home. Sorry I can't help you out here.
I have excellent roos, both temperments and genetics that I will sell cheaply (or give away to friends here). It's a matter of supply and demand and the demand is generally lower than the supply. I even have a CCL roo I'll give to someone if I know they can use the genetics - he's as docile as the hens, and proven fertile.Sorry Annie:
A good roo carries genetics and behaviors....good ones rarely go to auction.....rehoming is only for the weak...my two cents...
Most meat birds don't live long enough to lay eggs. I got some red rangers to try crossing with my orps and got 3 eggs in 8 months. You might want to try something like rocks or orpingtons or rirNo one wants to discuss meat bird eggs for my broody girl?
