Pughtown Agway, on Rt 100 S of Pottstown, has chicks. I know because they are mine. Guinea keets too. I hope to keep Agway supplied for as long as there is demand for chicks, my way of helping a locally owned business as well as the people who want chicks and are having trouble finding them.Your gonna have to get them from someone on here. Most local feed stores are done selling them. You could always use Google to find a hatchery . Check craigslist. Just my 2 cents.
Wow! leaving the state are you. Did you decide you liked super cold winters and want them all the time?AnneInTheBurbs
This is the cockerel that you brought back to us. Unfortunately we will not be able to keep him. We have decided to move to Michigan probably sometime later this fall. I will only be taking approximately 40 chickens along and he just doesn't make the quality cut that we are looking for. He is available for $10 if someone wants a very friendly and tame rooster.
What's everyone using for wormer and what's the dosage? I'm going threw a egg shortage not sure why trying to rule out things.
I've been using Safeguard goat wormer. You can get it at most stores and TSC for sure. I am planning to switch to Valbazan when my current supply runs out. It's more expensive, but I believe it's a single dose, critically important with a large number of birds, but maybe not such a big deal for you.
I add it to wet feed to treat a whole pen at once, but catching them and administering it orally is much better if you can do that. Get a helper unless you have 3 hands.
There are several really good threads here on BYC about worming, worth a read and then you will be an expert on the subject.
Maybe we could split a bottle. The prices I've seen are about $43, sometime with additional shipping. Chicken meds are expensive. Thanks!! I did read about both of those wormers on here. I just wanted to see what the pennsylvanians around me used. I trust what i read on here more then other threads. Think I'm gonna try the valbazan i only need it for 7 girl's but have enough for future.
i would totally do that. I was going to check pickering valley feed today and see if they have it and how much they are usually expensive but surfing the net might be better. I will check around 8 this morning.Maybe we could split a bottle. The prices I've seen are about $43, sometime with additional shipping. Chicken meds are expensive.
