better? :lau

Yes thank you!

I just finished doing surgery on Ariel's foot. She was not happy at all about it but I think I got the kernel out. She's sporting a lovely gauze bandage now and just laying on my lap. I'm still treating her with Tylan as an extra precaution. She pooped on me twice during the operation! But I think she's going to start feeling better here over the next couple days. My poor girl! I'm going to keep soaking her foot and changing her bandage, probably twice a day and as soon as she stops limping, I'll probably let her go back outside with everyone.

Great job! Was it hard? Did you have any help?

Look at the bright side... no internet means more time to do housework!:lau

I know, I know.... :smack

Lol there is always more housework, isn't there?

The broodies who hatched 2 weeks or so (5 days apart) have decided that cooperation is the way to go and are actively caring for each others chicks during the day, though they are still in separate areas at night....

Janeway and Jo are both mutts, Jo is a daughter of our first and busiest broody, Gracie.

Fisher:

Like Anne, I'm thinking a penciled broody is needed in my flock...maybe in the spring????

I have two expert beggars...they refuse scratch on the ground and surround me to be hand fed.....they are training two or three others who now join the fray once they see a hand full of scratch...

My peeps are about a month old outside with a broody and the others. I was wondering with this cold wet weather should I be giving them (the peeps) a heat lamp at night?
