Curious to know what people in this area think about cock boxing where they where mini gloves. I don't think it's ok but I have never really witnessed it and I have a rooster that really likes to fight my foot so just curious to here what people know about the sport

I don't know anything really about the 'sport' but I wouldn't support any 'sport' which encourages a fight between critters which can't reason for themselves. I don't find violence just for the sake of violence as entertaining. And the damage done during a rooster fight is often done by beaks as much as spurs, so adding mini gloves to somehow make it seem 'ok' just doesn't cut it for me.

Roosters get enough of a bad rap in the backyard or barnyard, breeding towards aggression or encouraging it certainly won't help that.

I am trying to reduce my poultry workload, due to starting a new job where I will have less spare time.

The trio of splash marans is still available (and free)

I would also like to find a home for my flock of blue Swedish ducks. There are 5 - 2 male, 3 female. They're 2 years old.

Shoot me a pm in interested in either.

Here is the original post, page 4315 I think...I eventually got them to kinmera near erie, don't know if either of them still have the breed but it is a place to start.

I used to have blue Swedish Ducks. I really like them and would have them again if I had more room and time. Mine came from Metzer Farms hatchery and I will highly recommend them. They specialize in waterfowl.

They also have fast growing giant Pekins for anyone looking for meat ducks.

I am going to tell you guys against your will!
I didn't have any fertile duck eggs, so began to look at the Meyer Hatchery catalog to get an idea of what I could house with my Pekin. The Ruen and the Blue Swedish were the best fit.
Then I looked up the BS (ahem) and saw their status. I then decided I wanted better quality than hatchery if I was going to have them. Ofcourse it didn't occur to me until now (too much going on here!) that I would need to separate the BS when I wanted them to hatch more.

Regardless, they are nice looking and will be a good addition. Soooooooooo... Despite that I now do have fertile Pekin eggs, I would still like to have an idea of where to get Blue Swedish.

I had 2 female Muscovys lined up for spring so JoJo would have more girls and wouldn't hurt Lily but he really doesn't seem to be over mating her. I wanted Anacona females too. I was always terrified to get another male bc of him n JoJo fighting. But planned on atleast 3 more girls. Give him his pick so he could get busy!!!! Lmao :lau

My son has literally been praying every night that his favorite chicken is a pullet, but I think that even I have to admit Sweet Pea is a boy.
I am really hoping to find him a nice home where he can have a group of hens and NOT become dinner! We have had him since he was newly hatched--he was always the smallest and the sweetest and now he certainly is the most interactive of my young flock. Anybody want this pretty boy for Christmas? (The Barred Rock--not the human!)
