I need an idea of how to keep the water from freezing without using a homemade water bowl heater or buying a heated dish. I've got it!
I have a lot of fish tanks and equipment! I am going to use an air pump, hose and bubbler to keep the water moving! It's safer than the water heaters my dh made several years ago, and something I have on hand.
Just sharing in case someone needs an idea.
ThanksI have 7 eggs set aside already and I'm waiting until Sunday to set...I need a bigger bator lol. I met someone on Facebook that has an extra wine cooler that doesn't work that they're going to give me lol. It's not huge but it could work
especially if I turn it in to a hatcher and still buy a cabinet bator![]()

MCC I remember reading that you can sit a water bucket inside an old tire in a sunny spot and it's supposed to absorb enough heat that the bucket doesn't freeze Haven't tried it myself.
Lucky! I would be skinned alive if I brought adults birds to live in the house...With the forecast changing hourly, saying it will be colder and colder next week, I've come up with a new plan.
The ducks will be staying in the house. I'm not happy about it, but it is what it is. I might have a place to keep them in the basement, but I'm not sure. The chickens... I only have six. I just might move them in here too. All I know is that I need to get away from this house, and around people! :-D Even if it means dealing with family. And even if it means keeping fowl in the house for my peace of mind.
