What's the status on the chicken train? The insane poultry addict in me would love to get my hands on a few of @dheltzel
's midget whites and maybe a mottled or two...? Clearly I've lost my mind, but I know the rest of you are enablers so I know you'll understand. :jumpy

Easter weekend... Tuesday, March 29 actually. No room for big crates this time. Where are you located? You'll need to be able to meet me along my route somewhere.

Been MIA the last few days prepping for a sourdough workshop in Pittsburgh. I made sourdough granola, sourdough cheese crackers, waffles, bread, rye swirl bread, and water kefir.. It was so much work but it went SO well... We even got to laugh at the smoke alarm going off from a preheating Dutch oven and the fire department stopping by!

Have you been joining in on the discussions in "incubating with friends"? We've had quite a few discussions on sourdough, how to make, how to use and how to know when it's very very hungry!

No! I didn't know about it... We don't have an incubator yet so I haven't really ventured over to that area of the site.

@emorems0, thanks for the update. Unfortunately since the chicken train will be on the move on a weekday, I will be at work. It's probably for the best since I'll have something like 85 various peeps showing up over that next week... My dreams of midget whites will have to wait.

The sourdough event sounds awesome! I'm glad your hard work paid off in a fun event, and I've learned from experience that the mishaps make the best stories ;)

I'm having a problem with my rooster. He's a polish bantam, white head black body, and he's as sweet as can be. However, some of the hens pick at his head, and because of this he always has a bald patch on his head. I have tried pick no more and tying the feathers together with a rubberband, but still they find places to peck. I'm at wits end here. Any suggestions?
