Songster
Have u thought of trimming it off so they can't find a place to get to his feathers or try keeping them occupied to help discourage them from pecking

I'm having a problem with my rooster. He's a polish bantam, white head black body, and he's as sweet as can be. However, some of the hens pick at his head, and because of this he always has a bald patch on his head. I have tried pick no more and tying the feathers together with a rubberband, but still they find places to peck. I'm at wits end here. Any suggestions?
Haven't we all?I lost before I began.
Welcome from the other side of the state.Hershey, PA!
I think the better question should be: Why are you stepping on a toddler in a dark alley. What business is it to you if I use books as skiis?
I really like partridge rock's looking, unfortunately , they are very broody. I cannot have a rooster, so a broody hen only makes me feel guilty to not let her hatch. My dream breed is buff orpington, but i just cannot have them for the same reason. I know Meyer has partridge rocks, and Myers drop order from them. Not sure if Myers has them though, because they have limited layer breeds available.

I like the name "Pennsylvania Black". They should have their own special name instead of black sexlink, because most people think a black sexlink is RIR and Barred Rock x, not these fluffy cute face and blue eggs. I'm going to name mine "Candy", because she is a real eye candy. The lay lots of blue eggs and look like Black Ameraucanas (sorry, only black, other colors make the sexing not work).
I'm thinking of calling these "Pennsylvania Blacks", in the same vein that people have made up names like "Super Blue Egg Layer" and "Sapphires". I have some of these in out laying flock and love them. Last year they were immensely popular and I have gotten lots if reports back about how well that are doing.
I love Cream Legbars and have a tough time advising people about what blue egg layer is best. It great to be able to give them a choice. The hens look so different.
