Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

@LadyJane8 We have the same coop and it's great. Very easy to put together. A little hard to get into if need be (and I'm a petite 5'4). I read that it needs a coat of poly before it's set up because the paint that's on it is simply primer, but I wasn't able to get that done in time for our chick move out day, so it is what it is. It seems to be holding up okay, but it's only been outside for 2 weeks. The first week our babies didn't know to go up into the coop "loft", so I had to physically round them up and put them in one by one, but after about 3 or 4 nights they realized that dusk meant bedtime and started going up themselves. We just built an extension, nothing fancy but it does the job for about $80. Planning on doing either a run or a chicken tractor later on.

How many chicks do you have?

We have 6, but I'm actually picking up 2 more shortly, so I'm certain it will get crowded as they continue to grow. Plus I don't plan on free ranging, so an extension is a must. I just wanted to have something to move them into for the time being and know we can build something ourselves that is larger, for less money, than the extension pens made for this coop. I also plan on making a sort of base with treated 2×4s and chicken wire so that the fir isn't resting directly on the ground where it will get damp and rot more quickly. The locks seem a bit chincy, so I want to replace them, too. We actually bought the floor model from a local TSC, so we didn't even have to do the assembly!

HELP!!!! what should i do is there anything i can do
Looks like the abdomen didn't close before hatch... Go to the current hatch along thread for some experts in hatching...I think there is one for May, and there was one for springing into spring from April. I have very, very little experience with hatching problems. I would keep it moist and keep the chick somewhere dark and quiet until further advice could be obtained.
