I was thinking of getting a small air conditioner for the chicken coop so they have a cool place to go when it gets up into the 90-100+ degrees. I know they don't need it it but i know it would feel nice for them.
How about simply a fan to move air on a still day. And a dust bath (perhaps not directly in the path of the fan). Those are things that cool a bird naturally.
Or, of you want to cool something, ice cube in clean water would be a hit too on a hot day.

X2 or what about a kiddie pool with a couple inches of water in it for them to wade in?

Well, after two months of quiet on the fox front, one was screaming this evening...pooch is out on patrol....what a PIA......
We have so many foxes near us. Every night our dog would wake us up barking like a maniac... until one night after not getting any sleep, due to baby constantly waking up and dog Barking, the SO lost it on the dog. He hasn't barked since.. poor guy! And the fox can't get my ladies...

Hey guys just wanted to update you on my bourbon hen
we have 9 of her eggs in the incubator and there is 7 in this nest so far and we are gonna let her go broody on this clutch
how do you think the poults will look from this cross

We've had a momma fox and a weasel (who we already know is a murderer) lurking.
The weasel got two roosters a few months ago. I'm kinda glad in a way because I think God was trying to help me out in a strange way. The roosters were in the same coop/run as the silkies, the roosters were the only ones who got eaten... the roosters were being a pain in he rearend and beating up the silkies. Even though they were mean to the girls, I still couldn't bring myself to culling... that's why I think God helped me out... by sending a weasel to feast on them. I just think it is funny that even though they are in the same run and stuff, the silkies and rare breeds that I love didn't get eaten, too.

Sorry to hear, just me but if the SO lost it on my pooch the SO would be re-designated SOL.....my two cents.....
