Typically, but there is too much variations in shade to really say, and it isn't as apparent usually the first few days. I thought AuroraDream26 had a pullet and cockerel the first few weeks but she ended up with 2 pullets, just one was the lighter shade as a chick....so it certainly isn't a science!

:hugs i am sure you are going to miss them!

They are 'grand chicks' of my egger flock....sort of like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to end up with!
 
Hey lady! Guessing you were able to pick up feed! Sorry I was not very helpful on all fronts! Ever since my last fox attack.. I have backed off with chickens! I still enjoy the ones I have, and Grayson LOVES going out with me in the morning to open them up and throw the scratch.

There coop is so small now, They prolly hate me! I will have to post a picture.

Also!! HELLO Everyone!! I have been gone so long!!

Hi everyone! I finally got my fence up to keep the Feathered Fiends out of the pond/patio/deck/porch area! They aren't pleased, especially Mabel. The boys crow all dang day. I'm serious, if anyone wants a Marans but not to eat, let me know. They are nice guys, but I do not need 2 of them. Otherwise, plan is to eat them in the fall. I was hoping one of the girls would be broody by now so I would have back up. Guess it isn't happening. Oh well, I am sure someone here would enable any future chick need.

Blog is active, and I've tried learning how to YouTube now. Always something going on.

That's great, the lady that is taking them just needs some replacements, she's not particular. ;)

I was thinking of getting a small air conditioner for the chicken coop so they have a cool place to go when it gets up into the 90-100+ degrees. I know they don't need it it but i know it would feel nice for them.
