OK another question about egg size I think my SLW laid her second egg today it was another super small egg same as,what was laid Monday. Will they lay small eggs for a while or how does it work.

Sometimes they get bigger then smaller again. After about a month, they should even out to a larger size. Then, after the molt this winter, they will lay their final size. In your case, a large or extra large.
 
Ana and Elsa are both quite content tonight. They are both nestled comfortably on 4 CCL eggs each. The way I see it, they're the ones I have the best chance of getting pure babies right now seeing as how my lead roo is a CCL at the moment and I have about 12 young CCL boys running around out there. My son's RIR boy gets beat up and chased off by the girls and 8 don't think the Marans boy has worked his way away from his marans girls yet.

Speaking of marans, one of my pullets from the first hatches of the year has come in to lay. I'm getting some extra large, super dark eggs from her right away! I'm very impressed!

Thanks Motorcyclechick......I think the same girl laid both of these tiny egg,about the size of a,jaw breaker, it was in with my EE eggs today and it looked really small next to them. I think the rest of my girls are getting close to laying also. When they first start how often will they lay an egg? It was three days between the two small brown eggs.

I often get an egg daily for a week or two, then nothing for a week. Then, they are in their groove. 3-5 eggs a week.
 
Whoever says auctions are bad is wrong. yes i try to stay local but you meet amazing people at auctions, and some awesome and rare birds are there. I was at Lebanon valley auction and got a African goose, golden neck Belgian d'uccle (2 trios) and 10 Indian Runner ducks (2 drake penciled 1 hen) (one khaki color drake) and 2 buff runners (both drakes) I currently have a sebastopol gander for sale along with 3 Muscovy male ducklings and a splash yellow golden male pheasant.
