x's 2 on that one...it is super funny to watch them work things out.
I have a bird that whines before she lays..just walks around driving the rest of the nuts..whining, . it's not loud or anything obnoxious, it's funny to me cause i can leave the run:smack

I realize I am late to a ll these posts..but this is my 'go to' for ER issues. I have yet to have to use anything after that. I've been lucky
on that end. blu-kote works great, covers the red color from injuries...also gives your hands a very nice blue sheen after your finished working with it:rolleyes:

I find my hands are more purple. Perhaps I am applying it wrong?
I wonder if anyone has tried to intentionally spray their hands, and found that more ended up on the chicken?

She is just trying to help!
To my knowledge, you two can choose Chaos's Anconas, or my Pekin and Muscovies. I think Pekin are best though. They don't go broody either!

Hello everyone! I'm not in PA but I do live very close to the Hanover/Littlestown area and the surrounding area. I have a 19 week old Black Australorp rooster for sale. He has a good disposition, no signs of being aggressive. Please Pm if you're interested.
You can hang out here, no problem. I grew up outside of Uniontown and New Windsor (Wyatt224 will know those towns, I'm sure). I still go back a few times a year to see relatives.

I hope you can find a place for him. I have too many roos also. Sometimes I find an ad on Craigslist works, but charge at least $5. If you list him for free, you will get some people responding you probably don't want to meet in person.

I have some Welsh Harlequins growing out. Anne often gets eggs from me, sometime I'll just tell her all I have are duck eggs to put under her broody hen.

Molly laid her first egg today. It is grey! I was surprised about the color. Since I got it at evening time, I wasn't sure if I saw the true color.
Which one is Molly? I have some Olive Eggers (look like legbars and are in the same pen) that lay a grey egg every now and then. At least I think that is what is going on, perhaps it's a regular CCL hen that produces that color. It's not really green to me, so maybe it's blue with extra "bloom" coating, like the occasional Welsummer egg I find with a pink overtone.

If she produces that color consistently, you really have something special. I've gotten maybe 3 or 4 all year from my flock.
