Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Well, until the 2 babies are big enough to not fit thru a 2"x 4" fence, the run door stays shut. Jaebels got out of the run yesterday. And trhough the fence for the people area. Mama Niko was NOT happy! So now I have kicked all the grownups out of the run and just closed the door again. They aren't happy either, since they use that as access to the nestbox. I guess a grow out pen is an option, but I don't really plan on doing many more babies. (yeah, and I'm sure there's a bridge for sale, also). Any idea how much longer before they don't fit through that size hole? Only other option is to keep them all in the run.
could you put some chicken-wire fencing around the bottom perimeter?...just throwing something out there

...maybe have a playpen, like stake is planning...just a small one though

, can't find it.

Going to be shredding up some cabbage and would REALLY like to try it in the 'jar' method..no cooking, aside from boiling water..if i am remembering correctly....just cabbage-salt-water, very tight lid and time.....thank you

The way I make sauerkraut is to shred your cabbage. Then stuff it in a quart jar..... and stuff stuff stuff. Let a small space at top of Jar (only fill to right under the ring) Push it down in. Use a wooden spoon to Push down through the middle making a'tunnel'. Put one tsp of salt in middle. Pour boiling water over till cabbage is covered. Wash rim of jar and immediately put on your flat and ring. Screw it on really tight. Will be ready to eat in a couple weeks. No waterbathing involved. Most people really like it. Gotten lots of compliments. And its easy. The lid will actually get tight from the fermenting process but will bulge up rather than down. And you want lids tight because if not the air can get in and they will eventually spoil. To make it ferment faster you let the lid a bit loose for a couple days but I forget how long as I've never done it that way.

yeppers, that's it!!

Checking out the new digs, along with our pup :D

Tonight I checked on them after they went to bed, and they all now sleep separate rather than cuddle together in the corner. My babies are growing up so fast! :')

Sidenote: My FIL helped today and said it was plenty big for 3 birds, and I chuckled to myself like "Yes... 3... For now..." :gig
