Quote: That all sounds terrible. I hope the doctor will help you. Check out that book though, it is really informative!

Quote: Reality check is right! The other neighbor is a bit further, and he is the previous owner of our home (He owned the lot next door and is in the process of building). I will tell him to just shoo them away or fire one of his guns into the sky lol.

I have 5 hens laying now out of the 27. We have 7 dozens eggs in our fridge! Lord, what did I get myself in too? We also have 8 nesting boxes, but they all insist on using the same one even squeezing 2 in at a time. My rooster chases the girls usually in the morning time, but rarely gets them to squat for him. He gets his work out in let me tell you. Haha!
That's funny. Sounds like it's time for a frittata or a quiche. I wish you were closer, I have to buy eggs. I think we go through something like 4 dozen every 2 weeks.

I just have to say, I am LOVING our new home. I am having such a good time even though there is a lot of work to be done!!

Such filthy, messy brats...but is there anything sweeter? Cosmo, Ebony, and Cocoa, snuggling up with me before bed. After a rough day, this is as comforting as it gets.

I did that with baby chicks because they wouldn't quit chirping when I put them back and now they are all grown up and follow me around like dogs.

About a month ago, it seemed like I was cooking a dozen eggs for the flock every other day. Now I'm lucky to get enough for us to have breakfast every 3 days or so lol

I have gotten 9 eggs so far today that's he most eggs I have ever gotten. How are your silkies I think it's you that has them either you or motorcycle chick. I have one of them laying the eggs are a little bigger than a quarter. Here are a few pics

This was yesterday with her second egg

Very cute. Only my daughter's hatchery silkie is laying so far, all the others are still too young. Heck, out of the 4, I'm only positive of 1 hen and 1 cockerel lol the other 2 are still a mystery!

Thank you I have a hatchery hen also but she will be with the silkies I will just have to make sure I don't sell someone her eggs. And if you post pics I might be able to help you with gender. I don't know how well I can help but not long after I got mine I was sure what gender they were just by the way they were acting.

Incubating more?

Working on it :) everyone is molting right now (or too young to lay) so I have nothing to hatch at the moment BUT I have my lavender ameraucanas seperated. I just have to wait til they start laying again. I'm also picking up a new CCL roo tomorrow that will get some ladies as soon as his quarentine period is over. I need backup roos!
