They are gorgeous!! I love the lavanders
I am very taken with them and how friendly they are. They come right to the front of the coop looking for treats (clover is a favorite) and will eat from my hand. The eggs are tiny so far, but I'm testing their fertility in a friend's incubator. Even as adults, they are so small I would consider hatching and raising them indoors through the winter. Both birds and eggs are roughly the size of a large Coturnix quail, but with a far more desirable personality.

I'd like to say you could get a pullet that will never be mean to others. Some breeds have reputations, but in the end there are personality variations. I believe that hens need at least 3 to cause issues, if there is only 1 other bird with them, there is no way to "gang up", they must be friends with the other bird or they will have no friends. So, if you choose to separate her, one of your existing pullets might befriend her if it is only the 2 of them. Of course, they might both choose to be broody together . . .I might be looking for a new pullet after I get back from Peru so like mid October. I'm thinking of separating my EE that is broody and getting her a docile friend that hasn't free range and would be ok in a smaller run. I think some of her being broody has to do with her being picked on by all other 12 birds. I think she hides in the nest box. I'm open to whatever just as long as it seems to be low on the pecking order and won't be mean to her.
