wow! You're good. Exactly right.
your birds are gorgeous! And healthy looking.

Thank you :) they're all totally spoiled rotten lol

Looking good!
I love that you will be making these hard-to-find breeds available to people in your area. I have found lots of enthusiasm for rare breeds, who doesn't want something that is just a bit more special if they can get it. Why "settle" for a hatchery EE if you can get at Cream Legbar like your beauty to lay those blue eggs.

All thanks to you :) I know that I love the rare breeds and I'm anticipating interest locally this year too. With rural king not far away selling dirt cheap hatchery chicks, it'll take something special to get people's attention.

All of your birds are beautiful but I like this hen in particular....I love the tight feathering and pattern variation.

The little one with the black stripe on tne right side should be a real pretty bird, would love to see its color in 6 months!
Sometimes I wonder if I should selectively breed for the cutest chicks, since they are the main "product" I sell. I have to admit I looked at raising Orust because the chicks are so distinctive and cute. It turns out the roos tend to be extra aggressive and I figured they would be picking fights a lot longer than they would be cute little chicks.

I think my hatch is basically done. Ended up with 2 CCL cockerels, 1 BCM, and 1 yellow fluff ball that could be wheaten Marans or some kind of cross. Guess we'll have to wait and see what she/he grown in to. Don't mind my messy brooder. They're in with my week and a half old Ayam cemani chicks :)

I've never heard of an Ayam cemani chick. Do you have pictures of them when they are older?

thank you for the info. It's really funny that my husband was just showing me pictures of these chickens over the weekend and told me we should get some, but we had no idea what they were called. They are beautiful birds. It's too bad roosters don't really get along because I'd have a bunch of them just because they are such beautiful birds.

Roosters can get along quite well with each other. I have at least 6 adults free ranging together right now. There's always a clear leader but once that's set, they tend to work together.

We had 2. A silver laced Wyandotte and a light Brahma. The SLW would not leave the LB alone. It pulled out all the LB tail feathers (which still have not grown back and its been months) and would attack him all the time. There were always feathers every where. When you opened the coop door they would dart out the door and the poor LB would run and run to get away from the SLW. We gave the SLW to a friend that said he does great with his small flock, but they don't have any other roosters.
