:hugs Most of can relate to how deep a friendship with a dog can be. She was beautiful and you gave her a great life.
I am so sorry...my heart goes out to your whole family. We certainly understand the sense of loss and pain you are going through. The kids will probably have a lot of rough moments since she was there most, if not all of their lives. :hugs
Thanks, she did not enjoy her first dose.... So sorry, I hope she went peacefully...:hugs Thanks, I have some Oxytet still, but I want to try the tea tree oil first, diluted. It has helped me kick all kind of bacterial and viral ailments. I figure I will try for a week. Since she is eating and drinking normally, and pooping okay too, I will try the natural way first. If I don't see a turnaround in a week, she gets the Oxytet. I was thinking about using the tea tree oil diluted for lice too... I'll have to do a "focus group" with that too. If her face looks shiny, it's because of the oil. I applied it with a small brush.

So sorry for your loss, Auroradream26!! Dreamy is, like many of her kind, a gorgeous dog! :hugs Remember those paw prints are forever on your heart.
:hugs Sorry for your loss! She was a beauty and was lucky to have you as a family.
Auro: So sorry to hear....toughest day in a long time for me was losing the pooch in my avatar......its tough to see a silver lining, but, I am sure it was better for her to go quick and without prolonged illness or pain,,,,
Thank you all. It's going to be very strange and difficult around here without her. She always woke everyone up every morning by howling in the kitchen for us to take her out if we were in bed too long. Every day, she would shove her way out the door, run and slam against the door to the garage to go out, and come bounding back in the house to the fridge for her breakfast. It was very unexpected and sudden. She was a realization of a dream for me as I'd always wanted a Siberian husky (hence the name, Dreamy). I'm thankful that she did go peacefully, overnight in her sleep. May we meet again one day at the rainbow bridge.

This week's hatch is over. All 4 of Ana's eggs developed by one quit. Yolk was absorbed and everything but it never pipped the shell. Of the 2 I incubated in here, one hatched. It's a lavender ameraucana/RIR cross. That rir boy is busy. I gave him to Ana to raise and she is so content. I'm heading out to get some breeds seperated this afternoon. Lavender ameraucanas, CCL and silkies will all be devided up so in a few weeks, I'll be getting some pure eggs in the bator. I'm also going to move Ana and her babies to the rabbit hutch in the coop for the first week or two so they can have their own safe space.

I just got a call from the post office. I have lavender silkie eggs to go pick up...

Sounds great! I'm hoping to get some silkies next year.

Hey yall!
New PA resident here. I had chickens back in Mobile, Alabama, sold them to travel to Europe, married a guy from PA, and followed him to our cozy new home in North Annville, PA. Now that we've settled down a few months... I'm interested in raising a rare breed of chicken for the preservation of the breed.

I'm on the lookout specifically for Black Sumatras. I'm told it would be ideal to get the birds from a Breeder instead of a hatchery. So, while the "state of the art" coop plans are being reviewed by dear husband, Anybody know any breeders nearby? Even in other New England states?

Welcome from Chester County !

Today is a sad day here. We woke up to find that our 12 year old siberian Husky passed away in the night :( She was a mischievious brat right up until the end. Dreamy will be teriibly missed.

Oh, I am SO sorry to hear you lost your beautiful girl. We know what it is like. I have a standard poodle who is 14 now--he has to be led down a ramp to go outside. Big hugs to you.

Well I came home tonight to find a Silkie on the nest. I tried to see if she would move when I touched her, and I just got a couple of pecks. I only have three nest boxes, my plan was to build another set of three boxes this weekend. I better get on that... @fisherlady. Did you sprinkle some broody dust over here? Not that I object.

My little sick chicken in the garage still has puffy sinuses, but I haven't seen her eyes get bubbly or foamy. I will try for a few more days, and if nothing improves, she gets the drugs.

I'm sorry, I told my girls you wanted broodies and the must have sent a little birdie out your way with a telegraph to your girls... :gig

I think both babies from the July hatch are laying! One of the small eggs is freckled - think that is Rory's and one is more solid brown. No blue (well, they're sorta blue/green) from Mabel and Vicki yet this season, and Serena is slacking still also. Think everyone else has laid at least one egg since Christmas.
