Hey guys just got home and Hedwig is acting kinda Funny. She was doing it last night too. I wasn't home all day so I'm not sure if it happened all day. Anyone mind watching and let me know what you think?
I agree. I think she is just too hot. Remember a chickens body temp is about 103-105, I believe, and she was used to temperatures around freezing. Maybe if you have someplace a bit cooler for her, maybe a garage or something? If not, just make sure she has fresh cold water available at all times.
@yoopergirl1211
, that may feel a little warm if she is acclimated to being outside all winter, but I can't imagine it would do her any harm. She looks ok to me, but I'd defer to the pros around here if there are still any awake.
X2!
I've had some mechanical issues with the incubator and needed to bring in DH for a consult, now that he is wise to the fact that I've got a cabinet incubator in the house...he's made it clear that one hatch....then it goes back to it's home at MsLadyHawks. I wonder if I could squeeze those call duck eggs in before he notices...
I really should order them....just in case.
Haha, oh you're in this far already....
I feel like I should get a gold star. I walked into
tractor supply yesterday, and did not come out with any chicks! That's the second time.
@dheltzel. I candled Cinnamons eggs last night. Looks like at least two of the Lav eggs are developing, but you were right. The Bielefelder eggs, as best I can tell, are looking so good. I stuck them all back under her anyways, just to be sure. Do you think the large Roos are having a hard time mounting the girls because of their size?
That broody has turned into a nasty girl, she used to just growl, but when I reached for those eggs, she kept biting me. Little booger. So that will be the last time I candle those eggs, I think. About 9-10 days left...
